hood star spring

hood star spring
i have a 98 c230 and i thought this stupid practice went outta style in 1986
well i am visiting a friend go outside and my star is straight up in the air dangling on the streched out spring protruding from my hood
obviously the work of some punk kids that dont know any better since all i had to do was give the star a little twist and it popped right off.
so now eveything is in tact i have the star and the little ball it sits on and the badge is still in place on the hood.
soooooooooo is it possible just to get the spring and reattach the star or do i have to get the whole assembly ? and where is a good place to get one or the other.

I would just get a new emblem for $15.30 at www.bimmerzone.com and save the trouble.

where can i get flat? i checked the brabus site but i get lost there
i see a c-class kit on ebay for 36$
if the star is only 15 im sure i can get flat for cheap
does bma have them?

hmmmm i know i dont know if i will like flat..
i feel like i got lucky that nothing else got damaged though and that it might be safer to go flat
i heard a story about a guy that knew someone that sharpened knives for restaurants and he made the two bottom point edges of the star like razors
wonder what the liablity in that would be to come back to your car to find a couple fingertips on your hood !
plus i think ud get ur headlights kicked in ha

I don't get the flat emblem thing. I don't think I'd care how many times the damn thing got stolen, I wouldn't go to a flat emblem for ****! I guess it's just a preference thing. I don't think I could look down the hood of my car and NOT see the 3 point.
