wowww....really great work....so enviable from me that you got your own garage (In facts, I'm from HK). I just brought my 95 C280 few months ago. I'm thinking to have my car engine modification. Do you have any suggestion ??? Do you have any car engine modification example so that i could have it done more easily. Thanks !!

hey, I'm not sure how you're doing on this project, but I really like the interior work. I'm ultimately planning on redoing mine as well, just because I got the all tan interior, and not a big fan of it. I was wondering if I could get some tips on the seats and as well painting the dash and some leather parts as I see you're doing. I have a spare w202 that I'm planning on using most of the parts prep them up and then use on mine. How does the paint hold up and also since you went and dyed the carpet, does it hold up if you steam wash it?

Hey guys sorry, been busy with other stuff, Boat Project, selling house, general life stuff! haha. Anyway, good news, the project isn't dead!
I was using SEM paint purchased from a local auto paint store, it's designed for use on interior pieces.
As for engine performance upgrades as of now I'm just rebuilding the engine back to stock specs, I haven't found too much in the way of performance mods for the C280.
Anyway, here's some minor progress..
taped off and painted the center console black to match the rest of the interior.
Did some cleaning, 15 years worth of oil and dirt makes a pretty good mess.

Cleaned up some more stuff.
smoothed out the Sun Shade after filling the old vent holes
Then covered it in leather.
Started test fitting the fiberglass bumper. It's gonna take some work.

here's tonight's progress..
New timing chain and guide rails.
New head gasket
and it typical two step fashion, I forgot to put the washer in head before installing the camshaft caps, and they don't fit through the top of the hole.. so I gave up for tonight and will pickup again tomorrow maybe. haha

jenk_ins. Did you replace the serpentine belt tensioner? I can't tell from the photos. Rather than a spring to apply tension the early ones have a rubber busing that fails fairly regularly.
