Coin tray for 1998 C280. where to buy?
hi folks,
I called BMA today to order the OEM coin tray p/n - 202 683 00 91 but the sale rep. coudn't find this number in his computer. Could anyone tells me the correct part #.
My local Benz dealer asking for $31.50 for the tray and its special order.

i'm looking at my mercedes benz of escodido reciept from may 5th for the coin tray i just put. part# 202-683-00-91. it's the same. paid $19.50 for it. it says it replaced part# 202-683-04-91-7c45.
that's funny because i called bma this week and they had it in stock. u might want to try them again or just try another benz dealer.

hey alrefai,
i hope you still cleared it with bma that you're getting the coin tray and not another cassette holder. i'm sure you did, and when you take out the cassette holder, just remove the 2 screws on top and it's kind of stuck in there so you have to give a good yank to get it out.
it's a really helpful replacement. just don't cram too much junk in there

Hey ABsC280,
Finally I cleared my issue with BMA. I ordered coin tray from them for $17 + S/H. Also, I removed the ugly cassette holder and the ashtray and I am waiting for my order to arrive later this week. Here is some pictures of my 1998 C280.

clean, i like. those carlssons are a nice touch. i was really interested in those if those are the 1/6 17 inch. instead i went with 17 inch renntech wheels. superlight and sporty looking.
are you replacing the ashtray with something else too?

Yes, these are staggered 17” Carlsson 1/6 sliver, front 7.5” and rear 8.5”. The sporty renntech rims are nice too; they look slick on the bigger Mercedes, E and S class.
I removed the ashtray cuz it’s dirty and needs good cleaning inside. I would love to have built-in radar detector instead but I don’t think it is possible!
