Removal of Garage Doors Remote

Hi there,

Anybody knows how to remove my 1998 C230 Homelink button (garage door remote) on the sunvisor?

I love this feature and I want to tranfer this unit to my other benz which does not has it.

Thanks

Are they the same chasis? And was the homelink ever available for the Benz you want to install it in (such as w202 or w210)? I would just buy a used set from the wrecking yard and swap them out. Don't forget you have to get a power source to the visor.

Where is the sensor? I don't think it is located / hide inside the visor.

It all contained in the sunvisor. All you have to do is supply 12 volts and a ground and you are good to go. I have retrofitted the homelink to my 96 C36.

Thanks.

It is too late now because I sold my 98 C230 in exchange for a 05 C230.

Why did not you reply this thread earlier?

Unfortunately, my 05 did not come with the homelink. As a result, I have to buy those universal key chain transmitters for substitutions.

Actually I belive the sunvisor is different for the w203. I have seen them on eBay for aboiut $50. Or you can get a Honda one and cut the Homelink part out.

Okay, I may check it out. I hope the operation will not take me to do this. Thanks.
