Navigation for 202????

I was hanging out with my roomates (who are all honda fanatics), and I was looking at some of the honda stuff on one of their forums. To my shock they showed me a factory climate control/radio/navigation cluster for the 6th gen. (96-00) civic. THIS WAS NEVER AN OPTION FOR USDM CIVICS. This was only a not so popular option for jdm hondas. I now want a civic only for that reason. Then I began to wonder, did Mercedes Benz offer a navigation system for the w202 in Germany or Japan but not here in the U.S.A??????? If anyone knows, please let me know, I would be very interested in trying to find one for my 95 c280.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
a comand unit can easily be retrofitted to your car.... dont get a honda just cause of that reason.

I'm sure I could retrofit one from a newer mercedes, if I did that, I could also buy an aftermarket gps system as well. My question was though, did mercedes ever offer this as an option for the 202 from the factory (command unit not retrofitted from current line ups.) possibly models in other countries such as germany or japan. (I don't think it was an option here in the US, correct me if I'm wrong.) As for wanting to buy a 6th gen civic for that reason I would be crazy, because its almost impossible to find a factory navigation cluster. I was just blown away that it was offered at all in a civic.

!!!!!!! Thats cool! I've never seen that done before. It makes me wonder how hard that would be to do that. I'm sure it doesn't just plug right up. I'm sure its
not cheap either. I have the integrated phone in mine, I wonder if I could hook it up to the command unit? After seeing them retrofitted into old mercedes benz's, I guess it would be easier to do that then try to find (if it exists) a navigation from germany or japan.
I'm gonna start doing some research!!

Since no one has yet answered your question...

Audio 30 APS
APS 4
TrafficPro

All were available as dealer installed option, and the Audio 30 APS possibly as factory installed.

Use in the USA would be limited by lack of software, I believe the older versions of TrafficPro do not work with the current discs.

Thanks Scorchie, by any chance, do you know where I could find one? Or just pics of one equipped with the units you listed?

I was studying some of the pics from the benzNL link for the comand installs. Just out of curiousity, does anyone have any intstall details (other than club 202 link because it's not detailed enough) like for the 210 or 96 and up 202. It looks like the wood trim was a factory piece. It doesn't look fabricated at all (unless it's not) any suggestions?

well the comand was an option on the w210 so doing a retrofit you have to buy the facotry w210 wood trim surround. with the w202 it was never an option so you must fabricate your own wood/carbon trim surround.

I'll see if I can find some pics. Just back from Europe so I will have a look around, or take some pics of the units I have.

Since the lack of discs precludes their use in the US, it's purely an academic endeavour.
