length of time for w202 just sitting.

I was wondering how many days one could go with these cars just sitting and not being started.

I am not going to be using my car for the next 2.5 weeks and it has been 2 weeks already, for a total of 4.5 weeks.

Should I start it up at all? Or am I safe to leave it sit?

On my old BMW if I left it more than two weeks the battery would go dead. I would have to disconnect the battery to make sure I had juice when it came time to start up the thing. Same thing with my Aunties 2001 Honda Accord.

I know all cars are different, but does anyone have any specific experience with their w202?

Thanks!

Sanny

half of my first year in college, my w202 would just sit in the driveway at home...no one else drove it. It sometimes sat 2-3 weeks without being used and when I'd come home for the weekend or something, it would start right up and no problems. Battery and everything was OK.

I would think everything should be OK on your car too.

also, I had the car on campus (street parking) during my second semester and I'd only use the car once a week or once in two weeks...and it sat in the winter weather outside in Boston. Car took a little longer to start, but I'd think that's normal cuz of the freezing temps the car has been sitting for or a week or two in that weather, but battery and everything was OK, again. No problems at all.

no problem

BTW, I would check the air pressure in the tires after you get driving again because I did find that once in a while when the car didn't move for more than a few weeks sometimes the air pressure will drop a little in the tires, so just keep that in mind.

In the market
Take into consideration any aftermarket accessories you might have. They won't draw much juice, but lets say your car draws a continuous 200mA from you battery, but with the accessories it adds another 150mA of draw. 150mA is not much of an increase, but will still cut the legnth of time on your battery almost in half.

Sometimes I wish I could leave my 202 sit for a little while. I'm in my second year of college and I drive it everyday (except weekends) to school. My benz and I are commuter status. Plus I have to drive it to work sat and sun. So my benz is in commision 7 days a week. What a champ!

lol...at least your putting it to work like it's meant to do its tough and will get you where you need to go

it is better afterall to drive it rather than let it sit

Shouldnt be a problem, I just came back from Korea and left My car sitting for 2 months. She fired up on the first try. A little rough idle, but everything was fine.

Lately everytime mine sits for more than a week something breaks. Only has 65,000 miles too. Here is a list of the problems I have ran into seperately or multiple at once. I hate my Mercedes now.

Fuel gauge
Scrambled odometer
SRS problems
EPS problems
Limp mode
Dead battery
A/C relay failed
Transmission stuck in park
MAF sensor
