I don't know for sure, but I suspect they are slightly firmer.

Lynn, do you know the part number of the 04.5 springs? I was attempting to discuss pricing of the shorter springs with a guy in the local parts department, but he said he needed a part number of the new springs because apparently he couldn't look them up.

I don't know the part numbers for the shorter springs. I do know that there is a way for the parts monkeys to look up the numbers in the computers they have. Most of the parts monkeys are too lazy or too stupid to learn how to do that.

On thing you can do is give them the VIN number from a 2004.5 Sport Sedan. Most of them can look up parts numbers for particular cars using the VIN.

someone should delete the misc. comments/questions from this thread to clean it up.

Not black, but Eibach springs on stock shocks and wheels (with #4 rear pads).

Sorry the pics aren't the greatest, but it's a combination of bad lighting and poor photography skills.

None at all, but I've been told that the stock shocks will wear quickly, so I plan to either get new shocks soon, or get the H&R cup kit.

I'm interested in getting the H&R sport springs. I haven't found an answer so I'm going to ask here. When replacing the springs, do i need to get struts as well? What is involved by installing the H&R sport springs

You do not HAVE to get struts when you have springs installed, but be advised that your stock shocks/struts will not last as long (I've heard 10k-20k) miles with sport springs due to increased stress placed on them by the stiffer springs. If you're going the H&R spring route, you might as well get the H&R cup kit now rather than buying springs now, then getting the shocks later. The cup kit includes matched springs and shocks/struts and I've seen prices as low as $500, so you're better off getting the kit if it fits your budget. I found some hardly used Eibachs for $100 and couldn't stand another day with the stock ride height, so I just went for the springs with the intent of getting shocks later since I didn't have the money at the time. I'll most likely end up getting the H&R cup kit when my shocks start to go out.

Got for the cup kit. You may spend more money on the kit but you in turn will save money on the installation cost because the cup kit is easier to put on.

The reason I got just the springs was because I didn't like the stock ride and people said H&R rides very stock like and Eibach didn't have a combo available at that time.

If you did the sway bars yourself then I can say you can install the cup kit yourself as well. Just some money on proper sized tools.

You'll need some big sized wrenches and allen keys. Kineda's install instruction on the other forum did not include all the tools needed. I remember I wrote down the actual tool sizes when I did my install. So if you need that info. let me know.

i lowered my 96 eagle talon, alot like an eclipse. i know what you mean about scrapping. i would definately take it slow through driveways, dips, etc.
