2002 c230K Coupe
Model: 2002 c230 Kompressor Coupe
Wheels: 18X8.5 manaray vr5 (35mm offset) - 235/40/18
Suspension: H&R coilovers
Other: H&R 5mm front spacer
Comments:
Overall i really like the ride. It rides fairly smooth for being so low, and handles great! I haven't rubbed so far with two people in the back.
Negative: The coilovers aren't the easiest to adjust as far as accesibility. On the rears, i had to drop the lower control to adjust the plates. fronts i can get to with simply removing the wheel. also the H&R Struts aren't indented where my rim lip sits, and i had some rubbing issues with the inside lip of the wheel and the strut.

w203 Suspension Upgrade Options
PLEASE NOTE: I've been compiling this information over the past year and never got the time to filter it down, correct it etc., but I figured it would be helpful.
Also, this is mainly for “newbies” that want to know what suspension options they have for this car (so that there's no excuse for starting a "new" thread on this topic), as well as a "refresher" for "oldies" that still haven't changed their OEM set up. Just another one of “drexappeal’s helpful hints”.

Hope it helps everyone get an idea of their options.
Is this unworthy of being a stickied thread?

Actually there is too much sticky activity IMHO. Maybe there should be a sub forum for DIY"s, Stickies and FAQ's

Anyway the mods or sombody is willing to combine all the DIY's / FAQ stickies into one complete thread that can be stickied in a centralized location and just have Key words that will link people to old threads that have been made about different topics?
In essence, 4 of the stickied threads above could, in essence, be combined into a general stickied thread. Something entitled AFTERMARKET OPTIONS / DIY'S / FIX-ITS or something to that effect. In that one "stickied" thread, we can link old threads to certain information for "fix-its, modifications, body kits, suspension, lighting, etc..."
I know that we want to encourage "newbies" to do some searching on the forums and not be lazy, but this could potentially be a good idea that will serve a good purpose and be added as one of the "must-do's" for newbies. IOW (in other words) they MUST read that thread before posting new threads or similar language to that?

We cant enforce them to read the Sticky/DIY/FAQ threads BUT at least the option would be there and the forum would look more organized. Howardforums has it like that and even though you get newbies that ask STF caliber questions it is much LESS than most forums that dont have that type of organization. I dont think we should be rude the newbies ever though. Some of our older members on this board I think have really been rude lately which is why I really dont frequent this forum to often anymore. I personally like to see lots of posts-ala e46fanatics. It makes the forum upbeat and fun to participate in-but when you create an environment that makes it 'embarrassing' to ask a question than I feel the direction of the forum is not going good.

It's unfortunate to see that people are actually unwilling to read, especially on a talk/chat forum, which does involve reading. You and I have discussed before the apparent "laziness" that many newbies show, but just wanted to throw out some ideas that may or may not work (with the understanding that you mods most likely have thought over resolutions such as this before). Either way, you guys do a tremendous job on this board, so I don't have any complaints. I just try to give my constructive opinion, so that in the event it can be useful to you guys, you can consider the idea.

What should be done is before anyone can start a new thread, a message of some sort asks them if they searched the forum first. They would have to say yes to post the thread. And if someone really didnt search then everyone should feel free to flame that person because they lied in some way because, after all, no new threads would show up with out click on yes. The original poster would assume risk by not searching first. And after having to go through that for stupid questions they would learn to just search first.

are the rear springs on the C32/C55 lower or stiffer than the regular 2005 sports package ?
Are the front C32 springs stiffer than the 2005 sport pacakge.
obviously the C55 front springs are CLK geometry so those won't work.
thanks

In regards to a DIY thread.....Lets look at the pic thread sticky at the top for example. How many members, old and new, adhere to posting their pics there? Many start a new thread, for whatever reason, instead of posting in it. When threads then get moved and/or combined you invariably get the "why my thread", you didn't move his/hers", etc questions.
They are all good ideas but we have to look at the followthru as well. This is not to say we won't do it and/or listen to your suggestions, but help us out with as much detail as you can so that we can arrive at an informed decision. Take it private and discuss it with your friends. You know that someone is going to say *****, you did exactly as I asked, but not what I meant

Shocks Suspension System! What To Get!!!
guys.... I got a question....I have a C320 Coupe and... I was wondering...
H&R Cupkit or Eibach Kit? or just get Blisten Shocks for the H&R lowering Springs I have on? I mean...If i get the H&R Cupkit, I can throw the old lowering springs on the 240....
Suggestions?

I'm going to go with Kleemann speed-sensative springs for mine... if I can find them for sale anywhere! The shicks, however, are way too expensive. I'll probably get some stock shocks for the "lux" version to replace my sport shocks. I hope that will yield both better handling in curves and a softer ride.
