If I were you, I'd go with the TEIN Basic coilovers over the H&R cupkit...And, they're less expensive than the H&R coilovers (but the same type of coilover setup...i.e. height adjustable, non-adjustable dampers).

is not yet completed
it depends on your budget... if you wanna save some cash... id go with HnR springs with KONI yellow adjustable shocks...if not then you can just get coilovers... from Hnr - KWv1 v2 or bilstein pss9s

Workin' on it, SCFALIA. My appointment with TEIN is for the 25th and 26th of this month. They're going to complete the R&D for the S-TECH springs on my car and then I think they're going to see if the Super Streets or Basics will be a direct fit for the 230's (since they're already available for the 240's and 320's). Since the chassis is the same for the w203's, I have high hopes that there won't be any problems, but you never know how the weight distribution will affect the situation (since they already tried the prototype springs for the 240/320 on my car and the car actually raised in front from the stock sport suspension). Right now I'm running on TEIN (240/320) prototypes in the rear and it sits perfectly above the tire (1/2 finger gap).

I'll do my best to keep everybody posted with my TEIN thread.

I definitely agree on that. A lot of people are hesitant about the TEIN coilovers because nobody has really given any feedback.

The Carlsson, KW V2's and Bilstein PSS9 fully adjustables have been proven.

No matter what, it always comes down to how much you have or want to spend.

i know Tom (nukblazi) doesn't like 'em, but he's an autocross/track nut, and knows what he's talking about... but i have the adjustable CARLSSON RS / BILSTEIN PSS9 suspension on my Coupé. It was pricy, but well worth it. With adjustable comfort, performance and height, i am completely satisfied for my daily street use, and occassional twisty canyon runs !!

I've got a 2004 sports sedan w/stock suspension. Thinking about changing just the rear swaybar to an H&R. I know from my Jetta experience, adding a rear swaybar was the biggest bang for the buck. Has anyone upgraded just the rear sway bar and wud you please advise results thanksssssssss

Also noticed that I messed up on the TEIN coilover name. It's Super Street, not Super Sprint.

Also there are the Basic coilovers available. As of right now, this is only for the 240/320/C32. I'm finishing up R&D for the TEIN S-Tech sport springs at the end of next week and they might possibly do fitment testing for the current Super Street application for my 230 k SS.

Depends on which company and what springs you're talking about. The coilovers Carlos was referring to are swappable between coupe and sedan. As for others, there are two suspension threads at the top of the w203 forum that could probably lead you in the right direction.

i read through all those...

"depends on which company and what springs you're talking about"

Okay, that makes sense. As i have read and noticed contridicting things on the coupe and sedan being the same. Certain sites show differnt part numbers, others show the same part numbers.

I wish I could help you further, but since I don't have a coupe my information would be solely based on what I've read here. I can say that TEIN is not offering the suspension setups they currently have to the coupes because they want to make sure everything will be directly compatible and before making that claim, I'm sure they'll want to do test fitments first.

The True OG Modded out W203
Model: 2001 Mercedes C240
Miles: 69K miles going kinda strong
Suspension: H&R Coilovers at its LOWEST setting in the front
Rear Pad: #2
Spacers: 10mm in the FRONTto clear strut
Wheels: HRE 841 19x8.5/10
Tires: Toyo 235/35/19 & 265/30/19
Comments: No rubbing since I switched over to the Toyo's, best mod I have done in a while. Only problems of course is that the underbody does rub if it's an extreme dip or LARGE speed bumps. Ride is better than my previous set up IF my tires and alignment is proper. If it is not proper I do feel vibration(caused by the use of spacers)at the steering wheel.

I'm sure that they'd be able to sell, assuming your R&D went without them needing to make any changes on the current setups. If your setup is exactly like the 320 sedan setup, people should be able to buy even if it's not listed. Best way to check is to go to a distributor and have them see if TEIN will ship out the coilovers for use on the 320 coupe already. I'm thinking they most likely will.

I just called up Globe Motorsports here in LA and asked them how much it would cost to lower my car using springs. The guy was like, "why do you want to lower it bro?" And when I said to even out the look b/c I have 19's, he was like "there you go, that'll cause so much problems with your car, it'll rub against the fenders and you'll have to repaint them and everything." "what kind of wheels do you have?" "yeeeeaaaah, that'll be a problem, you should have gotten some Brabus or HRE's b/c that Tirerack Crap doesn't cut it and will rub like crazy even if its stock."

Man, this is coming from the same company that wanted to put 20mm spacers on a set of Brabus replicas to clear my front brakes... Guess I'm not going there.

Phil, I'll take you to a place. Globe Motorsports? That's in DTLA, right? I'm pretty sure that they are the FAB distributors. I'm surprised they would say that. Anyway, maybe next Saturday, we'll go. Either that or go to Zander at TWS. Let me know if you're down to do that.
