if your going to get coil overs...don't get the hr coil overs. They have no damper adjustment so you might end up in the same situation as you are now. You should get the tein SS or kw variate 2, both have damper and height adjustment.

If your happy with your current drop, then i would just get the koni's since you already spent the money on springs.

Not necessarily suggesting H&R Coilovers in your case, just wanted to mention shox.com has decent prices on H&R and Koni products. Good luck !

Looks good

Is the RENNtech suspension adjustable ? I don't remember, since it was so long I was looking into it.

If it is, I would try to see if they can bring the front down just a hair more.
But that's up to you and the ride quality.
What type of shocks does the RENNtech suspension use ?

Lightbulb Tein basic coilover ride height???

so i was researching and is it true that the tein basics for the C230 Kompressor Sedan the drop height is only = F:0.4~1.3" / R:0.3~1.5")

i'd be better of getting h&r springs and cutting 1/2 a coil...(1.4 Front / 1.3 Rear w/o cut)

any help cuz i want that slammed look... id prefer the coils so i can raise during winter....

also would i be able to get a proper alignment w/o cambers???

thanks thanks thanks!!!!

i have the TEIN SS. same height adjustment range as the basic.

here's my ride height (front can go down another 1" and half) (rear can tuck the tires if I want to)

and no you can't get proper alignment without camber kit or arm.

Frank, can you tell me more about the alignment? Is the dealer still able to do your alignment? Do you just get it 'close'? What's the deal? I can't imagine you running around with ~400hp out of alignment.

but unfortunately it is out of alignment...

I've only had alignment done once and that was when I had the RENNtech springs.

didn't bother doing alignment afterward because the car tracks straight, tire wears very even, and no abnormal wear. all the bushing wear and everything else was checked regularly, so I never had another alignment done. probably will do one soon enough.

Spring pad# 1 is the thinnest they have.

You can get them from your dealership.

its better to give coil overs then springs. Keep in mind the weight of the car isn't distributed perfectly, given its a sedan and it costs money to design a car with perfect weight distribution.

The driver side is going to have more weight then the passenager so the driver side is going to be lower then the passenager side. With coilovers, you can compensate for the difference in heights and have the same drop all around.

1'-1.5'' isn't really a big enough drop to throw off the alignment specs much. You will have more negative camber, but shouldn't eat your tires much faster then oem specs long as you get a alignment.

Its always recommended to get alignment any time you touch your suspension. Alignments are cheaper then new tires.

Daiso, go with COs man! I've noticed many used low mileage COs for sale right now in classified.

DO IT! and Go RAPS!

so if get the COs and drop it at the lowest settings i can get a alignment at a local shop without camber kits???

when i had my civic at the lowest tein settings it cambered bad and my tires only lasted one summer.... really dont want to buy new 19" tires every summer

nibo i wont lower my car until spring cuz im under warranty until nov so it wont make sense to lower it for winter.... i think im gonna buy brand new tein COs cuz on k1motors they go for less 900 brand new!!!

I have been near the bottom on my tein basics since I had them on (over 2 years now, I think) and just recently have i been gettin alignments. I have about an inch up front still and about half an inch in the rear that I could still go down. The first time I got an alignment w/o rear camber arms, my rear camber was something like -2.7... and they couldn't adjust it any more positive than that w/o camber arms.

My rear tire wear has been good considering that I didnt really deal w/ my rear camber until recently - you can tell the tires were eaten up on the inside more than the outside, but nothing too dramatic. Front tires look like they have even tire wear and my camber up front has been about -1.7 since I lowered the car.

Hope that helps. I imagine if you go lower in the rear with any coilvoers, you will have to buy new tires often or get a camber kit. Id suggest the second

yup its similar to what trutaing said. Whenever you lower your car you will always have negative camber unless you get a camber kit. The alignment shop be able to align it pretty close to oem spec.

it will eat your tires faster then oem, but it shouldn't be too bad.

I'm still running my first set of tires since I bought the wheels and lowered my car with COs. I never had the car alligned and no camber kits either

I think it's been 3 years now if not mistaken.

I see, next year it is then

It'd lower your car more if you go with thinner pads. If not mistaken, it lowers about 2 fingers from pad 4 to pad 1. I actually measured that..

I'd stick with stock pads if you run H&R springs since you'd have bigger gap in the fronts compared to the rears with these springs

You could cut the fronts if you want to go lower and change the rear pads to thinner pads

Not sure what pads do you have in your SS suspension. It was pad no 4 in my 2002 non-sport C200

Can you put a thinner pad in the front and a fatter pad in the back, as opposed to cutting the front coil?

We only have pads in the rears, none in the fronts. It would be nice tho if we could change our pads fronts and rears just like W210

And I'm pretty sure W203 and W210 are using the same pads
