So do you have the 2 litre with 148HP or the 'massive' 2.3 litre with a whopping 160HP?
hahahahaha cheap,

I know my car isn't the best and fastest (quick at best), but at least I have enough sence not to act snooby by not talking crap about a car I know nothing of...
I will admit that the 230 interior was lower than MB standards, but that was finaly corrected with the 05MY.
I'll take the pepsi challange against a Mazda 3 anyday... as a matter of fact I do regularly (friend owns a tricked out one... and I still own his ****)

just as quick as my bro's 325ci, obviously doesnt handle the same, but not too bad for what i paid as i picked it up used.Friend of mine bought the 230 a few months back and has had no complaints regarding performance.

From the engine noise, you would think you were really moving.Used to have a 323i, and that seemed quite a bit quicker to me.
Edit: I just realized it was a Saab 9-3! Sorry.

Also, sorry I was a bit feisty this mornin, I'm just sick of people bashing on the MB I4's. Sure it would be nice to have a V12tt, but I'm happy as can be with the performance and potential of my easy breathing 4 banger

Sorry holms, but when you talk sh*t, sometimes you get treated like sh*t.
Lets all be like little fonzies
You are right about that...you sure don't need to advertise, its readily apparent.
Big right toe...must be another gay thing.
There have been 4 cylinder versions of Mercedes cars for as long as I can remember including 170's, 190's, 200s & 220s without degrading the mark. I have mentioned this a number of times in different posts, but it is only in the US market that Mercedes sells mainly the V6 and V8 engines and this I believe is mainly due to the historical development of cars in the US versus Europe.
By your logic we could all say that the V6 engine degrades the mark because they produce a V8 and a V12, which are obviously more powerful, faster and probably smoother than either the V6 or the I4.
I hate to bring your ego down to ground level, but if you have been to Germany as you claim, you will have seen more 4 cylinder powered Mercedes than any other, all those A-class models for instance. Do these bring down the Benz name? No they don’t, they are the cars, along with the very popular 4 cylinder powered C-Class that Mercedes sell (especially in Europe) to give them the R&D money to invest in new products.
There are a number of different reasons that someone might want to buy a Mercedes with a 4 cylinder engine, including the cost of the car, the better fuel consumption, etc. Please do not insult them by indicating that they are degrading the name of Mercedes Benz.
