1000 mile service

my car is finally almost at 1000 miles, 920 as of tonight. by saturday i'm hoping to be at 1k. i have a list of settings i want changed when the car gets hooked up to the computer but is there anything else i should have done or checked at this 1000 mile "meet the service dept." appointment? the car seems to be pulling slightly to the right so i'm gonna ask them to align it too.
my list of changes include add alarm chirp, remove no telephone message, remove seatbelt chime, and some other stuff.

I too have been finding every excuse to drive my new car. I just got to 867 miles and expect 1000 sometime next week.
Looks like your list is good
I actually would like the same things changed .
*might want to consider the rain sensor, I have been reading post and some people don't like it and would rather just have an intermittent setting (like every 5 sec). Not sure if it can be done, but they had screen shots of the laptop and it had a setting for rain sensor.

The only other thing I'm going to ask them is if adding an exhaust will void any of my warranty .

** My car also pulls to the right, whats up with that? Will they align it for free?

What Is this service mandatory or you are just going to change those things you mentioned. I have now just over 1000 and I do not remember salesmen telling me to go for service that soon? I've got a lease too

Yeah, check out your service manual. It says anywhere between 1000 and 3000 miles there is a free check up and tire rotation.

you can't rotate the tires on the c230ss (or C320ss), the front and rear tires have different dimensions.

You are allowed a free alignment within 12 months or 6500 miles or something like that, ask them to do it now, why wait and cause excesive wear!

Between 1000 and 3000 miles is a free check up for them to look over the car and fix a problems since delivery. The free tire rotation I believe is at 6500 miles.

I do not need an excuse to drive... In fact I need an excuse to stop driving!!! Took delivery on 12/30/04 and have 5000miles!

I love the auto rain sensor, last time it snowed it worked so perfectly, one time they were on intermitent and they hadn't wiped for about a minute then the snow started building up and i moved my hand to hit the wipers but just then they automatically wiped, it was so awesome, they're like telepathic or something.
and they sure better give you a free alignment, 4 year warranty and my lease they threw in 2 years service.

Got me beat by a little; drove home Jan 15th and I have a little under 3K miles on it.

BTW, my car also pulled to one side.. they aligned it during the first 1k~3k service interval (free).

Be sure to check for door dings (take pics) before you drop off...

That’s my worst fear. It happen to me with my truck. I'm so careful where I park, and I take it to service one time and BOOM!....there is a door pop.
I thought because it is "Mercedes Benz" that things would be different, please tell me that most of you have not had this problem.

Before, when I had the bmw, the guy from the dealer would have a form with pics of a car at all angles and he would mark the area which had dent when he took the car. this is a better way. IMHO, taking pics of the car means nothing because who knows when the pics were taken. They could have been taken months or years ago.

Wow! You do a lot of driving!!!

I had my first service done at 900 miles, they were also willing to take care of the paint chips on the hood at no charge!

You guys in US are so lucky, I had my first service at 13000 miles, and no trip to the dealer since the delivery, but now, with 21000 miles I got a huge list of to do things for my next trip to the dealer ( next week ) to use the last days of factory warranty

( I also have a 6 months extended warranty, but not the same like the 2 years factoy warranty, we pay the repairs and them if aproved by MB ag, they give us the money )

The list so far: anything else I should add?
Problems:
1. Car pulls to the right. Needs an alignment?
2. Headlight switch is illuminated but the headlight switch position indicator on the dashboard is not. (Standing lights/Off/Auto, etc)
Questions:
3. Does the alarm have a bump/tilt sensor? If so it does not seem to be working.
4. Is it possible to install the Interior Motion Sensor so that if the windows are down and someone puts their hand in the window the alarm goes off?
5. Is there any way to make the multifunction arrow buttons on the steering wheel change between radio presets instead of tuning?
6. How do you use the PTY function on the radio? I can’t find a button for it.
7. Is it possible to install the factory 6-CD changer when it did not come with it from the factory? Everyone I have talked to says the 2005 models do not come with the wiring harness pre-wired and it cannot be done.
8. Is there a way to make the sunroof and windows close if the car is off and locked and the rain sensor detects rain?
9. How much is it to install the Aux Input cable for the radio? Also how much is just the cable alone, not installed?
Requests:
10. Please update the car’s software to the latest version.
11. Please disable the “No Phone” message. I do not have TeleAid and do not need the multifunction display telling me no phone is connected.
Control units > Info and Comms > ICM > Control Unit Adaptations > Version Coding > Optional Equipment > Cellular Telephone > Not Present.
12. Please disable the seatbelt chime. I always use my seatbelts every time I get in the vehicle but I insert the key and turn on the ignition before the seatbelt is buckled, the chime is annoying and unnecessary.
DAS > Short Tests > Instrument Cluster > Version Coding > Change Seat Belt Settings > (Continuous, Single Beep, Off) – Try Off?
13. Please enable the alarm chirp when doors are locked/unlocked.
Car’s Computer System > Programs > Rear SAM Program > Body > select Netherlands. Should chirp 3 times on lock, 1 time on unlock.

damn, you got your sheit together!

PS: just talked to my rep, and he said that due to 'Dept of Trans' regulations, he can't disable the seatbelt jingle... but then again that was his 'official' response.

PS: please reply with the answers to the questions when you get your car back... some of those are good questions.

Also, I got 3k on the clock and they are doing the 2nd alignment... check and make sure the steering wheel isn't crooked when you get it back.

Eek second alignment? When did they do the first one? is this a common problem? it's not pulling that much, i could live with it but it's a new car, it shouldn't be doing that. was the second one free? the service person i spoke with said they are normally $200 but the first one is free. is the charge only for people without warranties? i also got 2 years free service, that should atleast be included in that.
