I have a 2001 C320 Sport package with Xenon light.

Does anyone know how to turn off the Parking and Standing Lamp? (I mean during night time, whenever you turn on low beam, parking and standing lamp will turn on too.)

Or

Does anyone know where can I get the W 5W superwhite lightbulb?

yeah try bl-hybid bulbs.... piaas are way over priced...

 

I think it looks cool the way the parking lamps are different from the Xenons. The only other car I've seen this on is the M-B wannabe (Lexus GS300/400).

 

yah those 5w bulbs are pretty cheap...maybe around 7 bucks each. You should change it to match...i never liked how lexus mis matched the standing, low beams and fogs. BUT I DO LIKE the amber fogs with the xenon look. BUt 3 different lights are lil too much.

MARKL: How is the Lexus gs a wannabe?? Mb doesnt even have a car that size. Is it the lights your comparing?

 

It's no secret JoRel. When Toyota launched its Lexus division their publicly avowed goal was to compete... with Mercedes-Benz. Some have described Lexus as M-B wannabes ever since... sometimes justifiably, sometimes not, IMO.

 

I guess I'm guilty of using a general phrase in my haste. I've noticed a few new LS430's lately, and they sure style them to look close to the MB's, don't you think? Yes, the GS is a unique offering for Lexus. I was comparing the small front lamps that the GS has that sit next to the low beams and are lighted in a similar "indirect" look as the MB's.

 

Actually, I was followed to work this morning by a GS with his "city lights" burning in the dawn light. For 4-5 miles, he hung to my tail like glue. I had to look closely in the rearview to be sure I wasn't following myself...

 

A guy I work with was debating between a pre-owned CLK430 or GS400. He ended up getting the GS. I've been in it once or twice, and to me, it looks more Toyota-ish than its price would suggest. IMO, the leather, and other interior appointments, don't come close to the MB. He then added a wood dash kit which I think is too busy looking and detracts.

 

I guess there are some resemblences...but i wouldnt consider it a wannabe....of course...high classy cars look almost similar..but not all lexus looks like MB...just basically the LS430...

ie. SC430...is300...rx300...Lx300....es300....ES looks more like a camry and the is is not similar at all to any of them. I think just the L430 only looks like a mb. the rx and lx look nothing like any of the MB. I do agree that MB is absolutely higher class than lexus, but thay all have there advantages. For instance...i believe out of all the light styles, i think LExus has the better stylings. I guess its all on taste. Lexus is doing a good job hangin with BMW and MB as well....

To me a wannabe car is something in the sort of the new HUNDAI sonata....kinda has the MB style lights.
