Hello! I just joined and just bought the pictured '05 C320 Sport Sedan in Feb. and have been LOVING IT! I ordered it with the 6spd manual and it is an absolute blast to drive. I am VERY impressed with the ride and handling on this car and I drive it pretty darn hard. Oh and how about those brakes?!?! CRAZY good brakes, feel like they are off a race car they are so firm and powerful. This is my first Benz and I am very, very impressed. [I am coming out of a '94 Ford Taurus SHO (5spd manual)]
Other cars I considered were the 300C Hemi and G35 sedan. The 300C was awesome fun in a straight line with 340hp but was woefully terrible in the corners - Too much body roll and not enough brakes. I didn't actually get to drive the '05 G35 6MT as they were not available in Feb. but my wife and I just didn't like the interior or dash.
I did test drive the C230 (Kompressor) Sport Sedan but while it was very good, it just still felt like a 4 cyl (meaning not enough mid rpm torque) and the engine was a fair amount noisier and less refined than the 3.2 V6. Boy, the C230 is a an awesome value though...
Anybody autocross these Sport Sedans? Seems like they would do quite well in D-Stock.
So how about the pending C350?
Looks like I will be trading up this fall for 50 more hp - IF it has the current '05 wheel/suspension/brake setup. The pics on the web show kinda lame wheels and non cross-drilled brakes, but hopefully those are pics of the luxury version.

'05 C320 sports sedan
I just got an '05 C320 sports sedan too a week ago-- i love it, but i do have to say that i am not too thrilled with the brakes. however, i just came out of an IS300, which supposedly had unbelieveable brakes, so maybe i'm spoiled.
but i share your joy over this car

Thanks for all the welcomes and well wishes! Got to play with a WRX on the way home from work yesterday - it was in the wet on a very hilly and curvy backroad. I figured with his AWD I would have my hands full. Nope. Gapped him 3-4 car lengths every corner.
Not to say the WRX is not as good, its a great car from what I have read, but my 320ss was damn good - good enough to allow me to out-drive that Mr. WRX. Good times. The C320ss is a pretty good sleeper car, it goes much better than most people would think.
Note, I forgot and accidentally left the ESP on and I was very impressed with how subtle it came in as the car started to push into corners or oversteer coming out.
I have:
Sunroof package
Split fold down rear seats
6 CD changer
MSRP was like $41,500 and I paid $36,500 (employee price
) I know, I suck.
JWS3,
Yeah, I lose some on depreciation but not much because of what I paid. I will probably sell it on my own to get the most money out of it. I love this car, but if I can get the same thing with 50 more hp and no increase in car price, I am going to trade up for sure.

2002 C230K Coupe & 2005 C230 SS
Congratulations on the new car, looks very nice. My current 2002 C230 coupe is white and it still looks pretty good. Shows the dirt pretty quickly though.
