C240 Performace Question
Do a search...you will find all the info your looking for...
The C240 has PLENTY of passing power.
Once you get past 10 mph, or so, the power does come on good!
The ONLY power "issue" I had was the slowish initial throttle response from a dead stop.
I've "read" that chipping the car will reduce this throttle lag.
I had a few eletrical gremlins w/ my '02 C240.
A couple of times when we first got in it to drive, it felt like we had a flat tire. Once is was cold outside. Once it was hot. We never figured that one out.
A nice car we hated to get rid of, but rather homely looking compared to a current "sport sedan"

My dilemma is I've got $45k to spend. I can get a used C320 and a used Boxster for warm weather fun, or a low-miles C32 AMG for year round thrills with mod money left over.

Years ago - I work in Banking/Finance. The money is from a bonus and the sale of my 3 older Porsches (911, 944, and 928). Problem is, those were my only cars and I'm experiencing some gynecological pressure to get something with 4 seats that's also new enough to not have me lying under a car every weekend. The C32 has the performance I crave (more than enough, actually), it's beautiful, responds to tinkering, and would have me down to just one car and is still under warranty, but reviews I've read give the impression that it's fast but not particularly fun to drive (EVO: "Curiously inert." Top Gear: Don't be fooled by the AMG badge, curiously dull to drive." That gave me the idea of going with 2 cars...
