I just got a US Spec DVD command navigation system installed in my '05 C230K!!!! Works awesome. Big thanks to Sammy from MBdoctor.com. He did the install in no time and very courteous and trustworthy. I have been looking for someone to do this for a while. I gotta tell you sammy is the man!! He had the stardiagnose right there, programmed everything, made sure the car works fine and that was it!! Even though it is pretty easy to use, I wanted to see if anyone knows where to get a manual for it. Go and check out MBdoctor.com.

You can get the manual from the dealership. Steve does include manuals when he installs the COMAND (US or EU spec).

Thanks, called the dealer and said it would be $20. Only problem with steve is he much more expensive and he does not install us- spec commands.

Just to dispel some myths... last I checked the prices independently quoted by different customers were very close. Less in some cases, more in others. And yes, Steve does install US-spec COMANDs depending the customers needs and the availability of units. Don't mistake the fact that some items may be very popular and sold out for "does not install".

was looking on their website...hoping I could find a TV tuner...and YES! I found one...and it was Original $2500!!! and now on sale for $999!!!! wow what a deal....thats not USD they are asking for right? $1k for a TV tuner? you have gotta be kidding me....

yes that's 1000 dollars US! Usually more than that though after getting the necessary bracket, antennas, cabling.

Congrats on your purchase. FYI - Steve installed a new US Comand (plus AUX in ash tray and A/V adapter for DVD) in my car...granted it's a 2004 (older style) Comand. It came with a manual.

Considering the US Comand disc set includes a disc for Canada, I don't see any reason why it would not work.

if you dont mind me asking how much did Mbdoctor charge i live in Baltimore and im willing to travel but when i called him he said he didnt have any 05 commands. He had one on ebay for 1500 but i duno , How much did he charge for the instal and the command?

Not sure what it looks like exactly because I wasn't paying close attention while he installed it, but basically it made it so that I can install a DVD player and watch video on my Comand screen. He also activated the blank button (says "TV" on Euro Comands) to work with it. I haven't installed my DVD player yet, but my buddy had the same mod done that day and I've seen it in action and the quality (audio and video) looks great!

nice, but i wanan do this to my CL which just has a regulaer command unit. can u give a price on how much he charged for teh instal, and how much the wireing and stuff cost's you? you had to change everything correct?

Ali, I've noticed that you post a lot of questions in here regarding your CL in here. You do realize that the cl203 is not refrencing the w215 CL, right? I just want to make sure you understand that cl203 is referencing the coupe version of the w203.

sorry about that, i was doing a search for NAVI cd's, was wondering if the 05 cd's were just as good as the 07's thats all, i found this thread and read on and was just wondering for curiosity sake, instead of me posting another bullitin of something you heard a million times. ya know?


lol no i'm very aware that's not the case. but the MOST systems are just that, the system, and not car specific(except maybe the length of cable diff from small to large cars)

the only real reason why i HAVE been popin up from board to board is due to teh Search engine, i did a specific search and i found the topic i was lookin for in this forum. sorry.


as far as my posts come, and by all means, dont take this the wrong way. but as long as i'm not asking you guys with the C Class's things like engine swaps and stuff, i should be fine right? all i have posted on in this forum so far i think would be... about the L.E.D. plate bulbs and about this topic.

Nah, I was just making sure. It's no problem. Since you're fairly new, I just wanted to make sure you weren't mis-understanding. The MOST systems are similar, yes, however the units themselves are different across the different MY's. In other words, you wouldn't be able to use the comands on a w203 on the w215...etc...

Oh, and if you wanted to find stuff specifically related to the w215 CL, you can highlight specific forums and it will narrow your search to just that forum instead of searching every make/model specific forum.
