Ye thanks. I have two questions. How do you reset the miles on the screen? To completely zero to start over. And also, how the heck to you paint in inside of the headlight to make them look seperate like the EClass. I've seen it done on the "Fabolous C-Class".

I really enjoy it, aside from some glitches I've had to deal with, most of wich are covered somewhere on this forum. It looks fantastic, sounds awsome under throttle, handles great, cruise control and brakes are steady and sharp. does whatever i need it to on the freeway, hills etc.. I think you'll love 'em!

You really can't go wrong man. I know 2001 was the first year of production on the W203 and it seems a bit more problem prone, so I'd go for starmark or extended warranty if available.

Power wise, they felt the same to me, but the 230 reminded me of temporary power, like a turbo. Ive cruised my 240 up to 132 and it felt very steady, tach was about 5800 rpm's, had a little pedal left. The engine was confident, and not overwound. I held there for about a mile, then settled down. I never want to push it all the way, (then I cant imagine what's possible.) I estimate 138 to be it though.
I own a C230, and have driven several 240s. My 230 on a hot day, with the Air Cond on, on any road, at any speed, would easily smoke a 240 with the air off, on a cold day!!!!! (especially a 4 matic) There is a little matter of about 30 additional HP in the 230 and about 150 extra pounds in the 240.
As a mater of fact, I think my ML320 will smoke the 240 (even on the Highway)
Sorry for being an ***. Someone had to say it.
The 240 has a much smother ride..more luxery, but the sport flavour just isn't there.

I've never done over 70 mph in a 230, and Ive driven 3 of them. Ive also never raced a 230 so I dont know what they are capable of, and being they are MB's, I believe in them. My experience has been great with my 240, and although you can not ever have too much power, I feel mine is good for what it is, and how I use it.

They are all great...they' re Mercs. There is just something about having an engine that says "Mercedes-Benz" on the cover, that just makes up for any other complaint you might have about the car.

Smoother shifting? BS. Its the same trannies in both cars. The extra roughness must be the extra neck snapping from another 20ft-lbs of torque everywhere in the rev band.

Haha. A little demanding aren't we? Don't do it, ctC230K :p
Just kidding.
Here's my 4 cents (inflation and all that):
Both the C230K and C240 are good cars. But, and here's a big BUT...I find that the C240, besides having the upperhand in having a 6-cylinder engine, loses to the C230K in about just every aspect you can imagine. However, the sweeter (debatable) engine note of the C240 is immediately negated by its slower off the line speed.
*Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion. Since I'm a C230K owner, there WILL be a degree of prejudice in my judgment against "the other" vehicle. If sympathizers of "the other" vehicle are offended by my opinions in any way, feel free NOT to make it known to me since my opinions, like all opinions, are highly subjective and should be treated with respect. Any incinuations, subtle or out right, about "the other" vehicle being second grade in comparison to the C230K, was (probably) intended.
C240 owners, just kidding guys! :v
Back to the topic, ddrango, since you're 17, I'd highly recommend the C230K for its sporty look.

Yea thanks ctc230k i would be highly appreciative. and to the las tguy that poseted, thanks too. i like teh c230k better now, even though its a 4cyl, it's speedier, and i'm shocked that the 240 is slower than it feels. the c230k has a good interior too. i'm also looking at c320's too. they're just as fast if not faster than a c230k, and they have a nice interior.

The C230K Sedan, the C240 Sedan and the C320 Sedan. Which to get? I also believe ther are two kinds of C230's out there, one with a 1.8L and one with the 2.3L someone told me. I just though the 2.3's were used in the older SLK's.
I'm thinking of getting a C-Class and doing the whole Brabus package. Rims, suspension and exhaust, and of course the badges.
Post what you have to say about them. Any opinions, comments, reviews, thoughts, or anything that could help me in my purchase is welcome. Thanks in advance.

He says he pushed buying the car until this summer, why we are wasting time to discuss this if he will see the new V6 engines and start a whole new topic again ? Why not just go to the dealer to try all the car before you ask ? you are the one who drives the car, your thinking is the most important, our advice will only helps you to choose. just my 2 cents
