I love my car too. And have been driving real gentle for the first 1000 miles.

Before I got my car, I also thought about removing the "0" and having only the C23. Makes me feel like the car is C23 AMG.

Debadging is one thing, but rebadging should be a big no no.

Every MB owner will give you the WTF look when they see a c230 sporting an AMG badge. that ****'s just wrong man...

it's wrong...

Oh don't get me wrong, I mean it makes me FEEL like the car is AMG because of the C23, as in C32.

it says C23. how many C23s have you seen? I thought so. it doesn't say AMG except on the license plate but that's different that it on the top right of the trunk. still i will be the final one to decide if i put an amg badge on there or not since it does have an amg bodykit, amg inspired suspension and big brakes, sport package, etc.
my car is not rebadged, it's mostly debadged. i did not rearrange anything or add anything. :p

Thats because your recipe for debadging is really a recipe for disaster!
no offense but you should Never Never be using goo gone/windex/credit card on your cars paint finish. Dental floss and a hair dryer will do just fine with a good quality polish to remove the residue.

I use to think the same way before I found out how to properly wash and polish/wax my car. My old black Integra was full of swirl marks that looked like holograms in the sun and this was just after waxing.

I’ve had my black c230 for 5 months now and not a single swirl on the whole car. :p Klasse all in one polish with pinnacle souveran wax looks awesome and it goes on /off effortlessly. its expensive but well worth the money

Check out this web site they have some great how to’s on properly detailing your car:

oh boy. first post? welcome. thanks for trying to own me except you don't understand i wash and wax my car atleast once a week. if i was scratching anything by debadging I woudn't have done it. I took my time and did it carefully. I doubt you've used Goof Off before because you would know it's harmless except for making the area a little dull but it only needs to be rewaxed. And no it would not have been possible to do this without using goof off because the emblems were stuck on there for several months and had hardened. I could post a close up of the area later that still has some gooey remains where you can see a faint outline (can't see it from a foot away though).

guys look how swirled/spiderwebbed/scratched my paint looks, is this a serious problem or what? from 3 feet away it looks perfect but get close and it's awful.

when I first read this I thought you were joking.......
my post wasnt ment to be a flame or to try and own you. I've actually been lurking on this board for a while now and after reading this post I felt the need to sign up and reply. I was just trying to share some car care tips with my fellow MB enthusiests. There is really no reason for the micro maring if you are washing/waxing properly.

dude,
check out the MEGUIAR's forums...
they have tons of tips on how to properly wash / wax / clean your car.
skip all the promo and sales ads, and get down to the basics of preventing swirls, spider webbing, and inadvertently scratching your soft MB paint.

Lots to learn !!
