Fishing string behind the letters/numbers and either clay bar or goo-gone the glue left behind. You might want to use a hair dryer to "warm" the letters up before you remove them.

Do it on a sunny day; use dental floss, and then rub off the remaining residue with a thumb. It's that simple.

Amendments to DIY thread!

Thank you for the Info but I need to make some slight canges!

1. Supplies needed, you'll notice I used a plastic putty knife instead of a Credit card.

2. follow the rest of the thread (refer to DIY thread)

3. You've got to wax the area!

4. take another picture (it took me about 34 tries to get one that came out)

5. And another Picture...

6. So have another shot and then arrange the badge on the Bottle!

You should really remove the label before you use the microfiber towel. That label will scratch the car and defeat the purpose of getting microfiber in the first place!

Merged for you, but next time you can always just post inside the DIY thread. The link is only stickied, but that doesn't mean you can't post in the thread. - drex

Hey I have a '91 300E. Will the adhesive come off as easy? I am afraid it may be "crusty" and stay on the paint

try a blow dryer and dental floss. do one letter at a time. then after, you can use goof off / goo gone / laquer thinner to remove the rest of the glue/crust. depending on what you use to take the remaining crusties off [esp laquer thinner], go over it with either a hi-speed buffer with heavy rubbing compond to bring back the shine. thats what i did with mine. a nice wax coat wouldnt hurt either.

I finally shaved my badges. Need help !!!

I finally got around to shaving the badges on the back. Wasnt as bad as i thought. Some dental floss, and a strong fingernail did most of the work, the rest was easy. My question is, if your looking REALLY REALLY hard, you can see the tan marks from the numbers, will wax sorta even out the paint color. Its so faint im sure it would, but can anyone confirm or suggest something to aid that. Thanks again before hand.
