So since my car got totalled, I had my dealer check his dealerships inventory to get me into a similar car I was in. My car was fully loaded and the only option that I didn't have was the Comand Nav. My dealer has 2 nicely loaded 05 C230K SS', without nav but 1 has no memory power seats, but has the Harmon Kardon sound system. The other one does have memory seats but doesn't have the HK sound system, just a cd changer.

So, if you had to pick one over the other, would you rather get the HK sound system or the memory power seat option?

Since I am the only driving the car, memory power seats would be a waste. Such a feature is only good if two or more people are driving the car.

While that is true, when it comes time to sell the car, a Mercedes without power seats is not a good selling point... Although for all of us with a manual that too, BUT I DONT CARE!!! But I digress, it all depends on how much you like listening to the radio and how often you like to adjust your seat. So in conclusion, if its a lease and going to go back go for the stereo, if youre going to buy go for the seats. You can always add an amp if you want more stereo!

I wouldn't get either. But I would definitely get power seats over H/K.

Another Philly boy....where abouts? I'm in Girard Estate (South Philly)...

Power seats are just so much more convenient...and the stereo is upgradeable after the fact.

If I were keeping the car stock forever, I'd get the H/K. If I were interested in modding down the line, I'd get the power seats, if I had to choose - MB radios suck on both ergonomics and sound (never use the steering wheel controls - overrated, and is it really that hard to reach the radio?).

Like IC320, though, I'd choose neither, myself.

Don't forget that, with memory power seat you have also electric steering wheel colum and the parking mirror, that is a great thing when parking (scratching the MB wheels sucks)
The H/K sound, what I heard, it isn't so good at all

I would get the memory power seat :p

Right, and also get the easy in/out retracting seat and steering wheel option (I believe...it was in my loaner c240).

believe me, delbomber, after a month you will turn that feature off like I did. It was cool at first but after a while it became annoying (for me, at least)

Really, how fat does one have to be for that to be a "must-have" feature? Even I don't need it.

Sorry, I guess the sarcasm was lost...I used it for about 2 days before shutting it off...very annoying.

go with the power seats, the H/K system is not as good as expected. there is a thread on here which members have distortion, crackling, and even complete power failure. i believe if you get the power seats, not only do you get the memory controls of different drivers, i believe you will also get the side mirrors to automatically go down when you're reversing. it comes in handy especially when parallel parking. as mentioned, stearing wheel in/out convenience as well.

I did the same... I did keep the steering column part though, it just makes it easier to get my legs out the door (I sit with the wheel and seat as low as they go). The seat didnt move back into position quick enough for me, and if you started driving off it would stop.

I'd take the h/k. the seats are pretty much all power standard other than moving the seat forward and back. but my girl doesn't drive stick so i never have to change my seat

all the other stuff is pretty unnecessary except for the reverse side mirror function which is pretty cool, although i rarely used it in my bmw.

Question. I'm thinking of leasing a C230 for my g-fnd. Can you help me out what would be a good lease for that car?
