Big Blue Towel

My '02 240 (basic black) has been nothing but a pain in the butt to keep looking good. The swirls and/or streaking after each wash leave me frustrated and depressed. I've been following all your advice - polish then wax - but it's time consuming and I can't locate a karate kid to help. Anyway, I ordered the Big Blue Towel from CMA, and used it for the first time this weekend. Far be from me to endorse a product (especially w/no compensation), but that thing is amazing. It wasn't particularly wet even after drying the entire car, there were no streaks, and the swirls weren't as noticable. I know this isn't the ultimate solution, but it does a heck of a job - thought you might be interested.

The towel is about $25.00, but worth it.

Our Obsidian Black S600 has the same problem. We will never buy another Black car, that's why the '03 S600 we have on order is Brilliant Silver.

We have all sorts of towels, brushes, etc. but none of them work very well.

I have the black as well, and I don't have a garage. Keeping that car as clean as I can seems to be one of my goals in life now! I wash it by hand and wax every weekend.

I have found a thing called "the Absorber" at Wal-Mart that's about $8 and works great. It's also blue and is made of some kind of rubbery material that soaks up any moisture it touches and leaves the car looking great. You have to make sure it's completely wrung out between passes for it to work it's best.

I use this and it works well. You still have to go over the car with a towel, but it does get most of the water off, and it's quick to use.

You mean people live other places? Us Amerrricans can be so self-centered...

The towels are made in Korea - someone else must have them. A quick Yahoo search came up with this place: http://www.hawg-wash.com/detailingtools.html Good Luck.

MsMercedes, you took the words right out of my mouth. The Absorber is the best. Got mine at pepboys. My friend has the water blade, and that's alright too, but we still have to use the absorber.
