I also have a bmw and have gone to bmw in princeton - for comparisons sake, Bimmer treats you ok but Jimmy @ Salinas gets the job done a) Right

Bought my car from Prestige & not too thrilled w/their service. Basically had to bring car back 2-3 times every time they had to do something. One time service rep didnt even write up everything that needed to be done. They treat you like they want you to come back for your next car, but the actual service leaves something to be desired.

ray catena or silver star (in little silver nj) are great....i personally use sovereign mb but thats only bec i got the car from there, they hook me up with loaners and the others are not willing to do that

I found this old thread, and since i'm not that far away from my first service (B service since I bought pre-owned in June) I wanted to see if anyone has had any recent experience with Globe Mercedes in Fairfield. I bought the car there and would like to take it there to get it serviced. I brought it in for a few minor concerns about a month ago and I got a brand new C280 4Matic loaner and they were done with the car in only a few hours. Overall I was pleased, but not sure how it will go with actual scheduled maintanence.

I second that their new facility is up the street (Depends on if your comming South or North) for the showroom on the North bound side and is right before Menlo Park mall, trust me you can't go wrong their....................................

Okie - I got my car (and have it serviced, etc) at Globe in Fairfield (I happen to also live in Fairfield, so distance-wise, its wonderful for me). We don't get pool tables or some of those other things that people have mentioned, but they do have wonderful new loaners (most seem to be less than a year old because they keep selling their loaners when they hit roughly a certain age/mileage)... They have pastries out in the morning and a new LCD television in their waiting room. I've had good success with their service, and they have been very flexible regarding drop off/pickup times since I work odd hours.

I recommend 'em... but I have to admit, those pool tables sound nice!

Thanks glad to hear! My car that I bought pre-owned was actually one of those loanders you wrote about. They gave me a great deal on it--CPO and only 1 year old with 10K miles. My service advisor is Scott, just wondering if by chance we have the same one, he seems pretty nice so far. I don't really care that they don't have any entertainment like pool tables since they always seem to have a loaner for you. It seems like Ray Catenas (and others) fancy new service center is just there because they want you to wait and don't want to give you a loaner.

I had my first B Service today. It came to around $430 with tax. About 3 hours of labor and about $100 in parts. The labor time seems a little excessive to me, but I know this is the going rate for a B Service. They actually quoted $480 + tax when I dropped off the car, so I was pleasantly surprised when it was lower.

It was done at Globe, very happy with the service. I got a 2006 C280 4Matic for a loaner, and they even washed the car pretty well.

I respectfully disagree with this assessment. I have had nothing but bad luck with their service department, although I did buy my Benz' at Manhattan MB, where I get my routine service. I think Manhattan is great...right buy Lincoln tunnel.

I related 2 bad expierences with Prestige in Paramus....1) my 2001 C230Coupe caught fire in the trunk....fire department came, tow truck etc. It happened at night and they took the car to Prestige....the next morning, the service adviser said to me, "So what do you want me to do about it." Nothing, like I am sorry, or wow, what a bummer.....I was in shock....Luckily the engineers from MB USA were there and really helped me out as I was most upset....that was in 2003. 2) In October this year.....I made an appt to put winter tire on my car....I specifically asked if service and parts worked together to do the necessary...I asked parts the same thing...I was assured yes....a month later at 8.00 am on the appointed Saturday I turn up...an hour later the service adviser tracks me down in the showroom and says, "did you order your tires." Needless to say they only had three....she said they are unusual and not in stock all the time...I went to my local STS......

Got my car @ prestige, I bring my car to prestige to get an oil change, and some miniscule problems checked out and that's probably it, i dont really like the tech's gunning my car out of the garage, while im watching. I live in Paramus so it's 3minutes away, other than that, i bring my car to Bergen Imports for thorough services.
