OEM 05 C230k RIMS pretty D a M n STRONG

Hey guys i've been MB-less fo the past two weeks now because the wifey won't let go of the car! She's in love with it, however I know what you guys ae thinking "why would you let the wifey drive the car" especially that long lol Well to tell you the truth she's actually a very good driver the only concern is that she actually bent one of my 18 inch amg monoblocks on my 99 c230k. However, amazingly these oem 17 inches have passed the two week test. Her defensive pothole driving has not changed though because just a couple days ago I was in the car with her and she landed on the mother of all potholes. It was so bad I told her to stop the car to check-------and no damage no bends no air leaking and most of all no pulling. I know they are an inch smaller than my previous 18 in MONO's, but way to go MB---I expected to have alot more problems and none thus far.

Any issues with you guys and your rims other than that initial pulling everyone had rolling off the lot.

I'm right with you on this post. My girlfriend and I are sharing the car, she uses it to drive to and from work and I use it mostly on the wekends. I even find myself going outside after she comes home and checking over the entire car. I almost killed myself last week. She scraped the passenger front rim on a curb! Not severe but noticable in 3 spots. ARGGH! Luckily, I can get it fixed for 125.00 and not have to buy a new rim for 300.00. I am taking the car in tomorrow to have this fixed.
Secondly, I have an appt. on Friday for the typical alingment issue. It pulls to left of course. Other than that, A-OK! I take care of the car like it was mine and only mine. I consider myself very **** now but thats the only way to keep the car looking perfect. Good luck and enjoy it!

If you do end up hitting a nice pothole... its going to cost ya !

A few months ago i hit a pothole in a 05 loaner c240 (my luck) and it tore up the rim, a few minutes later.... flat tire. The dealership was kind enough to let me pay for the rim @ cost (otherwise it was going to go through my insurnance).

GOTTA luv So Cal Roads after a rain or two...

After massive rains we get a fair share of potholes, due to lack of water drainage planning. This year So Cal expierienced so much rain fall they are still repairing the roads, and the repair jobs are not better than the actuall torn up concrete.

California potholes...give me a break. Everywhere else these little holes would be called dimples.

Spend spring in the upper midwest, or the northeast...then you will know the true power of the pothole. Or try Florida...I think they call them sinkholes.

The 17" Evolution ( C7 ) wheels have survived the Montreal potholes 2 years in a row. Roads are so bad here I had to adjust my left headlight to show potholes at night

Just hit a nice one 2 days Ago! What pisses me off the most is that this pothole is on my daily route to work, i usually know to avoid it!!

Didn't get a flat, and doesnt appear that my rim is bent or broken.. allignment seems alrite also..anything else i should worry about, could this also mess up my suspension in this case?

MBs have weak arm links. I'd be more worried about those

I dunno man, I'd never call either my *****, but my GF does hate my car, and my car dosen't seem as happy with her around either.

anyways, in vancouver, the roads seem to have potholes built in, think they design them on purpose to give road workers something to do, no road is untouched, there is constantly construction, and the constant patching and stuff, mess up the roads so bad. No joke, potholes are everywhere.

It's probably as bad as Montreal, we don't even call them potholes anymore, just roads.

I guess the best defense against your woman driving your car is if she can't drive a stick shift! At least that's the case with me.

Every once in a while she talks about wanting me to train her, but so far it's come to nothing.....I guess I've just gotten used to no one but me driving my car, and I don't want it to change.

the way I have managed to keep woman curb rash off my wheels, is by buying my girl a Mercedes-Benz of her own.
I figure, in time it would pay wheel-replacement 10 times over !

Sure enough, within 4 months, she already had a small curb-rash on one of her wheels
