crossed drilled for the back of the car

When I need new brakes, I want to put on crossed drilled onthe rear as well as the front. Will the dealership do this for me? Is it an option? What do you guys think?

Off topic, but in your signature, it states that you want a cold air intake.... WHERE DO YOU GET THAT, for a c320?

Cool Use an indie...

You'll pay through the nose at a dealer.

The question is whether you're doing this primarily for looks or because you're a heavy user of brakes, track days, mountain/canyon runs, etc.

First, be advised that drilled rotors are more susceptible to cracks and breakage than are non-drilled rotors. Period.

If you are doing it primarily for cosmetic reasons -- i.e., they look cool -- then you probably won't have any problems so long as you buy quality rotors. If you are in the latter class above (heavy user, etc.) then you want quality ones that are drilled by the manufacturer (such as Brembos) and not by the aftermarket. If this is the case you may also wish to consider a big-brake kit with the two-piece rotors. Lots of money, but the improvements are worth it.

Good luck and enjoy the ride,
Greg

My dealer put Porterfield pads on for me so I don't see why they wouldn't do the drilled rotors but consider that the rear brakes will probably last 100K miles, how do you know that you'll want to do that so far in advanced?

Look into a set of Crossdrilled rear rotors from Porterfield ..They can Cyro treat them and Then have them Cad Plated to prevent rust as mine still looked like new after 40k No Cracks or wear!

How much does this all cost? Can you give me an estimate of what it should run me?
