C350s are now in production

My dealer said they currently have several C350s currently in production. Soon, they will be at a dealer near you.

Out Yet

As of five days ago a dealer could configure a car but not price a car. It gave me a chance to work out the option packages, color, seats, etc...

I have been watching the google hits on "Mercedes" "C350" and it has been increasing by about 1000 hits a day. Now today I see that Edmunds has a video of the C350.

The only differences I saw when configuring a C350 was that the seating option was gone. Back are the three trim packages (lighting, entertainment, sunroof) instead of two as shown on the mbusa web site for the C320. There are fewer paint colors available but they added an option for rear air-bags. (got that too)

Since the dealer has $10K of my money up front I expect that they will be calling me to finalize the options/ paint/ leather any day now.

Configuring a C350

Oh, I noted too that if you load out a C350 it still comes to around $49K, generally the same as the C320 so it appears that MB is going to hold to keeping the prices in line as they stated a few months ago.

I am really excited by the motor. With the C class being about 400 pounds lighter than an E it should really rock. (ok, so I stick two fat people in the trunk to even things out <j/k>)

When everyone was asking about when the C350's would be available back in January on this forum, I said it would be here in mid to late June. There ya go people! I test drove a C350 on my last trip this past christmas to the factory in Germany.

Ok, I'm blind. Where did you find the prices for the C350?

I bought one for $28k in 2003 and another for $31k in 2004

49K??!!? That car is not worth 49K. Couple more, and you can have a Lexus LS430 let alone an E class.

Although it would be nice to have a decent engine option for that car. Can't you get a C55 for 53k?

Yep. the car salesman told me i should get an E-class instead of a loaded C320 and I told him MBUSA did not sell any E-class car with a manual transmission

Pricing will start at 40k and the top of the line will be just below the AMD.

49k

That was with every package clicked off, loaded to the gills.

Even in an E I would still need to select the navigation system and telematics, that makes the price even higher for an E

Tish,

Frankly I cannot see your argument considering that there is certain std equipment on the MY05 that is deleted from the MY06 (H/K std, dual power seats vs drivers only), only available as an option (rear door air bags), not available, etc. Maybe you could list exactly what you ordered in detail instead of talking generalities when comparing both MYs.

Sure can, here is the list

C350W4 (2006, 4MATIC C350)

Color 197 Metallic Orion Black
Leather 218 Ash (not inserts)

293 Rear Side Airbags
359 Teleaid Digital
530 COMMAND
536 Sirius
050 Handsfree Cellphone Integration
319 Lighting package
320 Entertainment Package
324 Sunroof Package

I have the NetStar printout from the dealership in front of me. Since pricing hasn't been released they have a bogus number of $454089 as a price.

I am counting sales tax (in Nashville it's high), dealer prep, etc.. out the door price of $49,784

From my original MBUSA workup on a 4MATIC 2005 the one item that is missing is "Driver Multicontour Seatback valued at $240.

One more thing on the C350

Oh, and one more thing. In the 2006 C350 the "Entertainment Package" is back. This was not explicitly listed in the 2005 C320 but it includes the Harmon/Kardon 320 watt 12 speaker system, dynamic volume control and the 6 disk changer.

Talking Comparing

You are right about comparing. I was originally looking at the C320 and when they didn't have what I wanted anywhere they looked I pursued the C350 as an order.

My negotiations with the dealer were one-for-one between the C320 and the C350. The only thing I did not get that was available on the C320 was the multicontour seats. My color choices were the same and it was a pleasant surprise to get a bigger, more efficient motor.

Thanx. I guess, based on your statement, MBUSA has therefore increased the price somewhat considering the decontenting, options that were std previously, etc. But overall it seems to be not much more than the typical yearly increase. What was your price of the car proper, not counting all that other stuff as it has a tendency to vary widely across the country and in a lot of cases isn't handled at the stealer but at the respective DMV.

BTW
Nice discount. From 6 figures down to 5

I'm going to start calling the 3 local San Diego MB dealerships, and just to **** them off, a little, let them know that I would have bought a C350 tomorrow, if they offered the Coupé !
