It's just that, when we organize meets, many people always post afterwards when all the pictures come out saying:
"aw shucks, I did not even know there was a meet / sorry I missed it / when was this posted ? / how come I didn't hear about it / etc...."

so that everyone in the W203 section knows, I am organizing the
2nd Annual San Diego MB / AMG Meet
to be held Saturday JULY 9th
at the ENCINITAS Coaster/Amtrak Station in Encinitas, CA (not all the way down to San Diego)
Meet time is at 2pm but you're welcome to show up early.
There are a couple of caravans / cruises being organized from L.A. & O.C. Counties.
So far there are over 45 MB's / AMG's signed up.
Plus another whole batch of classic / vintage MB's coming from the MBCA.
As a special highlight, this meet will be showcasing some EXTRA special cars:

- CEC's LORINSER CLS500
- the evosport posse of AMG machinery
- UNIMOG's (yes, MB trucks ! )
- HAMMER ////AMG
- SMART car
- E55 ////AMG Wagon
- super-charged CLK500
- my Sport Coupé
- and much more....

activities planned include: Professional Photo-Shoot / meet & greet / no-host dinner after the meet for those who want to stick around / caravan-cruise back to O.C. & L.A.

damn... im glad you posted this! i would have never known about it. I may go but i work on sat till 3.. and its about a hour drive from me.

 

it happens all the time, Burnt Toast.
People for some reason don't check the "EVENTS & GATHERINGS" threads,
so they never know there is a meet going on, until it's too late, and all the awesome PHOTOS are posted, and everyone is drooling on each other's cars.

This one is one of those summer events, NOT TO MISS !!

If you can get off early that Saturday JULY 9th , that would be great.
The Mars Red MB's always attract tons of attention, and are very photogenic, specially with the assortment of MB's / AMG's we are going to have this time around...

When / Where else ??? can you have a your car next to a UNIMOG, a SMART, classic/vintage MB's, an E55 ////AMG Wagon, and my Sport Coupé (of course ! ) ????

Hope you can make it, and bring some of those Riverside and Corona Mercedes-Benz people with you !

Believe me, when you come to one of these meets, you will meet all of the SoCal MBWorld locos like me. We are all pretty friendly, and willing to discuss / show-off our cars & mods.
No where else, will you see a more diverse group of people meeting in one place under one common love: Mercedes-Benz.

well, maybe except that wretched hive of scum & villainy in Mos Eisley... but nevermind, I've digressed.

As Drew once put it during an O.C. pre-meet in 2004:
Once you start showing up regularly at these meets, people will actually look for you, and wonder why you didn't show up ! We're a tight group, and try to help everybody out on the forums.

Only warning :v or word of caution:
When you see all these cars, if you don't have the "MOD" bug yet, it will bite !
