Everyone wants this car!

I am a first time MB owner so this is new to me but it seems everywhere I go, people won't stop admiring and telling me they want my car! My dad likes it so much he is in the market for one for my mom! All my friends are jealous, even the ones who have BMW's. Yesterday I saw a new 3 series in person and I have to be honest, I like the lines on mine soo much more. The new 3 looks too....I don't know....audi-ish/Japanese/like everything else out their kinda car. Its nice, dont get me wrong but I am happy I got the MB. I'm not being bias either.

People don't seem to know the price of these things either. Everyone says that must of cost you like 40 or 50 thousand! Man oh man, they have no idea. Its nice to drive around in something that is admired so much by people. Like I said, this is a first for me so thats why I'm gushing about it. I'm off to the fair now and am looking forward to driving to it than the actual fair!
Take care all and have fun!

I agree. I get much the same reaction...people see/hear Mercedes and automatically assume 50k right off the back.

yea, MB made a smart move on the AMG appearace kit on the 05 SS. i have seen the older 230s and unless they have a lip kit or something they dont do any thing for me. I get a lot of compliments on my car. its a nice change of pace from the jetta where all i got was "jettas are girls cars"

2005 C230K
Ya, I do love this car. In the town where I live there are really only like probably 7 of these things so it does get more attention than at our beach house which has a much higher per capita income. Even here though I seem to get a lot of compliments and looks. All of my friends are jealous and they all think this car is way more expensive than it really is. Although fully loaded one of these could easily be over 40 so they arent cheap. I'm sure it is crazy in LA....I was so shocked the other day down here at the beach....I saw an sl65 amg....I NEVER thought I'd see one of those in North Carolina. Pretty darn cool....I followed the guy around for a little bit just to look at it (guy probably thought I was stalking him). Funny thing is, the average person doesnt know the difference between his car or a regular sl....or even a c230k for that matter. Its all MB to them and that means its all good to us.

it appears briefly on Steven Spielberg's "War of The Worlds," the part where Cruise got out of his ex-wife's house to check things out. it was damaged but it still looks good

They look so close to an AMG that the actual AMGs aren't so special anymore..........

Yeah because an engine with an auto that can keep up with the benchmark performance car; the M3 isn't special.

Then try lining up against one...when the light turns green you will understand why it is so special!

The difference is quite evident when the key is turned to position 3.

Really fellas, let's not be so full of ourselves with this car.

I wouldn't even think about comparing it to an AMG. The looks are similar but I have much respect for the AMG engine. Reguardless of having the base model of a MB, I am still proud of my car but I KNOW it isn't an AMG and would never say it is. When one pulls up next to me, I give him the nod of appreciation for his car and let him take off. C230 k's are great little cars but I do plan on upgrading in MB as much as I can every 3-4 years!

i'm debadged and have had a few people say to me "this is the AMG right"? car looks great and is comfortable, but my BMW was more my style. car gave you a feeling of euphoria when driving it. but i had to go with something less expensive due to paying for 3 mortgages and something slower until i clean up my license. definitely is the best looking car in it's class IMO. I do like the looks of the new 3 however, but they weren't available at the time I got my C230.

C class never caught my attention (exception AMG) until the new sport sedans came out. i always found them boring looking and for older people. AMG kit totally makes the C230. looks aggressive and classy. all show, but no go

All show no go is definately right! In the words of Woody Harrelson in White Men Can't Jump, " You'd rather look good and loose then look bad and win!" I have to agree with that in my c230! V8's, speed on by! I'll just hang back hear in your rearview mirror looking pretty and fine!

speed is all up to the person. Im fine with the speed of the car as is. I dont race, I dont intend to race, and I dont even bother with people who want to race. The car looks good, drives good, feels good, and most of all I like it. If i wanted a fast car I would have gotten a car known to be fast I.E. WRX, EVO, SRT-4, ect.. all are with in or below this cars price range. I Got the MB because I liked the exterior styling, the interior nice and comfy, and the car drove nice. end of story. if you have a 230, 240, 320 and you ***** about the speed of the car, do your self a favor and trade the car in and get somthing known for speed.

i don't think anyone was *****ing about it, i think we were just implying that the car looks quicker than it really is. there are times when i wish i had more passing power, but overall the car is decent in terms of power. took me awhile to get used to it since coming from a manual 330 to the C230 is a big downgrade in performance. but the car is fine for driving around conjested, overpopulated Long Island

Haven't looked west lately?

Pacifica is a cool "family car". Its AWD, has Bix, chrome rims, nice lines, seats 6, has an MP3/DVD player and a nav system in the main gauge cluster, power liftgate, handles and rides nice(E class suspension), I could go on for awhile...and it gets 26mpg on our last trip to our place on a northwoods lake. Best rollerover resistance of any SUV, and a 5star crash rating. Mechanically, its never had to go to the dealer...my Benz can't say that. Its nice vehicle.

Its not a getto cruising, slammed, LA attention getter....and as someone who has to be in SoCal from time to time on business, that's perfectly fine for me. I love most of SoCal and Coast...hate LA.
