Looking for backroads, country roads, cruising roads in Los Angeles area

Does anybody know of any great cruising roads around Los Angeles area? I'm not really looking for canyon roads that are very twisty, just looking for some road great for cruising. Maybe some country back roads.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

i like to cruise from beverly hills all the way down to PCH on sunset. Nice twisties, nice homes and once you get down to PCH, nice view.

PCH near Malibu is always good some curves and great view.

for the canyon fellows, check out Turnbull Canyon in Hacienda Heights.

PCH is a nice spot cept there's too much traffic there sometimes. Sepulveda is a nice driver, from west la all the way to the valley, gets nice and twisty and it's usually pretty empty. Mulholland is also an awesome ride, from the 405 to coldwater or to laurel, all those roads are a nice ride.

COol. I think I will check those places out.

Just went to check out Angeles Crest earlier tonite. Pretty nice view up there. Noticed that my bushings are creaking up front again after I got back, maybe some dirt got in them? I just got the sway bar bushings replaced by the dealer recently, hope I don't have to go back there for this again. Isn't it a problem if after one drive where there was a little bit of dirt on the road and my bushings start creaking?! arg!

Angeles Crest highway is the best bet for LA, the equivalent for OC would be Ortega highway. Going down further to S.D., PCH between Carslbad and Del Mar has some pretty coastal views.

C230K Coupe/Orion/C4/C5/CD/AMG Spoiler/V60/TeleAid, 2 MGB's
-hit the 210 and head east to 15.....
-take 15 north to the 215
-follow 215 North up to Mountain Top Junction....
-turn left onto 2 (eventually turns into Angeles Crest Hwy)...
-head west through down/ups and a lot of twisties and into San Bernardino National Park
-You'll come into a town..I think it was Wrightwood or something like that...be careful, the cop was a *****...then you're into Angeles Forest...stay on 2 and into Big Pines...bear left to stay on 2 and follow that through some amazing turns and hills back into La Crecenta....pick up the 210 or the 5 from there

This is a great day trip, about a 6-7 hour drive if I recall correctly. Take a lunch and a camera....it's one of the most scenic and awesome drives in LA area (my opinion)

The other direction is to go from West to East. This direction is the exit called Angeles Creast Highway 2 on the 210 freeway. The junction comes up around La Canada.

I just went up a bit and came back down. I drove a total of 60 miles or so.

<shrug> I was on a business/vacation trip...had some time to kill and wasn't into getting caught up in LA traffic...so I took a Saturday and hammered this route in a rented Mustang convertible.
