evosport M271 Tuning
After a number of delays we are finally able to start M271 tuning. To make this task easier we have aquired a 2005 C230 for development use.
Stock our C230 made 168 RWHP and 175 RWTQ.
Next on the testing schedule is fully dampened larger crankshaft pulley. The prototype is complete and will be tested within next several days.
Stay Tuned!

Thank you gents for support. Here are front and rear pictures of the prototype crank pulley.
It utilizes internal inertia damper ring and should add around 2-3 psi. Our C230 is going back on the dyno today or tomorrow for final results.
As far as intercooling, a number of members tried bigger and better core on their 2.3L and did not see much of an improvement. Stock core is fairly large.
M45 Eaton in the end is what is going to be a limiting factor of around 250 FWHP.

so if all goes well, when can we get our hands on the pulley? i'm doing ECU and pulley around october/november and i really don't want to wait any longer. i made the mistake of waiting around for certain manufacturers to finally release engine mods for my 330 and wound up not really getting my hands on them until more than halfway through my lease.

any rough numbers as to what type of potential gains?

Good job Vadim, that's one fine looking pulley. Are you going to change other pulleys like Kleemann did with the waterpump pulley? Also are you going to change/adjust the FPR like Kleemann to fix any A/F ratio issues? My only issue with the bright color is I don't like attracting attention to mods to the dealer so for me, even though it's not as pretty, the closer to stock looking the better.

Are you going to be releasing any software prog that goes with this pulley ?

ones too fast according to CHP!
We will have the other pulleys done also. A/F ratios will be dealt with through software tunign by our partner Powerchip.
Thanks for the words of encouragement!
Thanks,
Brad

BTW for some reason my graph is off by 800rpm.

Something is REALLY wrong with those dynos. As you said, your RPM's are off. See where the TQ and HP cross, it is like 6500, when it needs to be 5250. 5250 is where TQ and HP cross (it is a mathmatical formula). You know this, as you stated it, but with something that far out of whack, I would question the whole chart.

Hey can you guys explain to me how Dyno'in the car works? I know that it calculates the rwhp but that's about it. What gears do you go through on the dyno? And how would that work on an auto? And what's that mathematical formula about the TQ and HP crossing? It makes sense to me just i never heard of it . Sorry if this i getting a lil off topic

torque * RPM * constant = hp
87.5 lbf-ft * 60 rev/min * X = 1 hp
X = 1 / (60 * 87.5) = 1/5250
torque * RPM * 1/5250 = hp
That's all I remember from physics.
Physics II in a few months, I am screwed.
hp = (torque * RPM) / 5250
87.5 lbf-ft * 60 rev/min * X = 1 hp
X = 1 / (60 * 87.5) = 1/5250
torque * RPM * 1/5250 = hp

It really does cross at 5,250, what's throwing you off is the scale on the left and right are different. So if you look at the HP and Torque at 5,250, they are the same, at just under 140 HP & lbs/ft torque. Never seen a dyno where the scales were different like that, throws you off but the dyno is probably not calibrated correctly if it's skewing HP and Torque like that. A dyno can only measure torque and HP is a calculation off torque. There are lots of variables in setting up a dyno and that's why every dyno is different, even Evosports numbers seem a little high since a typical manual trans car has a 12-15% driveline loss but every car is different, every day is different. I bet if Evosport ran their dyno today during the middle of the day with the temps in the 90's vs. an early morning run last week in the high 60's it will read lower.
