- what is moleskin? no you dont need it. i did over 30 mercedes in the last 2 years and no one complained and even if your tint gets scratched you just come back because of lifetime warranty.
if anyone knows a shop in tampa area that offers moleskin, please let me know.

If not the guy is gonna have to redo my tint when i take it back in 30 days since he checks the tint in 30 days to check if its holding up and provided a long 10 year warranty.

The prices you guys are getting for tint is CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Around here, the lowest I've been able to find is $200 and most are $250-275. Two years ago it was more like $310.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
The tint in most car windows is a visible dye that that is transparent to radiation of 1000 nM and higher and offers no real UV protection. The glass itself, however, is a good UV absorber. It can be further treated with chemicals during manufacture that will cause it to absorb more UV. This glass has a bit of a blue-green look to it, and will be hotter to the touch than similar glass without the extra chemicals. Some countries, like Thailand, use aftermarket window tints that appear mirror like, and they reflect UV from 800 nM and up.

I know that the 2005 glass is darker in both green or blue.

How does it look if you tint the blue glass with a 35% non metalic film all around? My new '06 has Ash interior and the blue glass really makes the interior color look weird from the outside. I just don't want to spend $200 on tint and have it come out a muddy green or something. Anyone done this and can post a pic????

Tint scratching? Get my mole skin kit!
I have worked with my supplier to create a task specific felt "moleskin" that is designed to keep your window tint from scratching.
I used the generic mole skin for a year and many people complained of it slipping off the blades and also melting causing glue to deposit on the tint.
I would like to market my non-scratch window tint kit on this site. Who can contact me on how to do this?

im on my 4th mb and everyone of them has had problems with the tint scratching, some worse than the others. but any reputable tint shop that knows about mbs and the seals knows to replace them with moleskins. sometimes even with the moleskins you get light scratches like in my case and my tinter replaced the tint for free. i really dont see anyone here buying your kit and installing it themselves, thats the job of the tinter. but good luck anyway.
and to answer your question about who to contact here about selling and marketing your kit, you would have to contact one of the mods and inquire about becoming a sponsor before youre allowed to sell here.
