New Guy Here
I figured I'd introduce myself...not sure if this is the right place to do it. However, the C-Class is my main interest so I figure I'll be in this forum the most.
My name is Kyle. I'm 18, college freshmen, blah blah blah.....
I drive a 2005 Saab 9-3. My parents wanted me in a very safe car becaue I tend to drive like a typical teen...hence the Saab.
I like it a lot, but I really want a MB for my next car. I'm really liking the new SLK, but I don't think the 'rents would let me get one while I'm still in college. The C-Class is a good choice. It's a slight step up from my Saab, but it's priced about the same. The Saab is a lease, and it's not up for a couple years.....so I have quite a bit of time to decide on my next car. I'm hoping this forum will help me decide whether or not an MB is the right car for me.
Along with the C-Class/SLK, I'm also considering the equivalent BMW's...the 3-Series and the Z4.
Jim Banville, gee...thanks for the warm welcome. Judging from your sig, you aren't hurting either. Did I come across as a snob? Didn't mean too.
To the rest of you...thanks for the welcome.....Suprissa, don't worry, I'll take your advice.

I'm actually going to the University of New Hampshire, oddly enough.
Quick question...I've had very limited time behind the wheel of a C230. Do you find it boring at all. I'm really into cars that are fun to drive. My 9-3 is ok, it's got the turbo and all. I really like the way the 3 Series drives as well.
I've heard from friends that the C230 is pretty dull to drive and heavy? Have you noticed this?
I really love the way they look, so I hope I'm hoping I like the way they drive.
Hit me up on aim sometime, if you have it....SwedeSpeed05
A Trailblazer?...what were you thinking?.....j/k, I got a Saturn Ion for my beater car when I turned 16...that was an experience. I was always embarassed to be seen in the thing.
My parents didn't think I needed the extra power, so I have the 2.0t, not the bigger engine. My car is decently well equipped though (leather, heated seats, sunroof, manual tranny, etc) so I'd want a comparable C230. It's not a step up in price or performance, but I'd say it's a definite step up in "image" or prestige.
For some reason I never even thought of the C230 back when I bought the 9-3. I looked at the Audi A4, BMW 325i, Volvo S40 T5, and the Saab 9-3....I completely over-looked the C230. Now I'm regretting it.
Oh well, in a couple years.....

Just a word of advice, before you start posting threads, make sure you are ready to Read first and the last thing you want to do on these boards is be "lazy". Exhaust all your search options (both generalized and specific) before starting threads that may have already been answered.
Other than that! Once again, welcome aboard and hopefully you can gain some great knowledge before you buy your C!
