Hmm - interesting. Funny thing is that the description is "BLADE SMART".

Don't you guys have Smarts up there now (I forget if it's Smarts or just the B series)? If so, might want to see what the Smart dealer may have.

I obviously can't say if the key will work with the 05s, but if it works with my 02, I'm not sure why it wouldn't. It's a special order anyway, so you couldn't return it no matter what. For $70, I didn't think it was a big risk - I live on the edge.

Yep! The same parts....just watch out for the little pieces that you have to attach to the key in order to remove the blade - I almost threw them away with the bag!

Got Mine. Finally!

Finally got mine. I went to Keyes European in Van Nuys, CA. I gave them the part numbers from this thread, indentification, and proof ownership; and they ordered it for me. Came in two days later (today), and the car started right up. I paid $67.88. I think it's worth it.

Hard to believe that some dealers don't think this will work.

It sets off the car's alarm. I guess the idea is that if someone is going to try to mug you or something you set it off, but in reality people just use them to find their cars in the parking lot, so no one would even take it seriously when they hear it.

I'm pretty sure that the panic feature is only a USA spec thing. Which is strange, why wouldn't anyone else want it?

You are right though, when have you seen anyone do anything about a car alarm going off? Mainly it's an annoyance only.

One benefit would be for TeleAid to get involved if you have that feature installed.

Ive also notice you have an anti-getting-locked-in-truck button on your cars (by law)

Do America's often lock themselves in their trucks?

No that feature should really only be standard in New Jersey and New York. You know in case you owe Paulie Walnuts some money and you didn't pay on time. Good to know its there in case you're being taken to the Meadowlands.

you can order it from Seattle, but i suggest what anotehr member on here did. go to Eugene of Portland. they will have it for sure. i spoke to the parts guy there and he said if i paid for it over the phone then come in person to pick it up it will be fine. you have to go all the way there. they dont ship keys.
