Carlos:
Thanks for the pics. I took my engine cover off before I bought the new filters just to make sure I had it right, then I saw your pictures and it made me feel better that I didn't mess something up. Also, if anyone is looking for the green filters, I purchased mine from here : Speedy Car Parts
Just remember to purchase two. They sent me one even though I bought two, so I contacted them and they are sending the other. They probably didn't understand why someone wanted two filters good for 50,000 miles.

You might want to ask Neal directly at EuroTeck MotorSports.
I just also checked the GREEN FILTER web site, and did a vehicle search for C230 and nothing came up.
However, for SLK230 (2.3L engine) they did have a GREEN filter (Part # 2245). Nothing showed up for the 1.8L engine though.

They are not stickers, rather actual badges, just like the "SPORT" badges on the SS, and had to be epoxied on. Not difficult, just placing them on the right spot, that's all. Don't think those are sold separately from AMG.
You can try eBay for some fake knock-off stickers....

There will still be fitment issues, but I'm confident i can work around them. I've gotten pretty comfortable taking my current air box in & out and identifying all the hooking points. Might have to get creative with the V8 AMG air box to make it all fit properly.
Still not too convinced if shaving the baffles out will do anything.
Probably not worth it for the hassle.
Only thing i did was swap out the K&N filters with GREEN filters. Car seems to sound a bit smoother, but response is about the same. Can't really tell. Too subtle. Put the K&N's on my wife's C320, and she can't tell any difference at all from stock. Which is what i expected.
a lot of people really BS when they say the can feel 1-3 HP gains. If anything you're lucky to get .3-.5 gain, but how the heck do you measure that ???
anyway, gotta get stuff uploaded....
talk to ya soon !

I took sound clips of reving the car up, with the stock paper filters and the K&N filters
The only difference it makes is when u rev it up (with the K&Ns) it gives it a air sucking in noise and the paper one you cant really hear anything....
but ive been with these k&ns for a while, they dun seem to make a difference, when I first put it in, it seemed like it made a diff, but driving with it now, its like ehhh

still don't see GREEN filters for the 1.8L M271 (C230K) engine on their website.
Check with Neal @ EURO TECK MOTORSPORTS (forum sponsor) to see if he has
any insight on what GREEN may be developing for the M271, if at all.
The M271 crowd really got a bum-shaft from independent after-market companies.
Not very much at all has really been produced or tested for the M271.
And yet it's not a testament to how well the M271 engine really is, because most purists will tell you that despite the noise, the M111 (2.3L) was 10 times better, and for that engine, there were quite a few of engine performance upgrades available from various tuners.
Even more so for the M112 (3.2L V6).

Picked up and installed the Green High Performance Air Filters today and I couldn't believe the amount of dirt and sand inside of my air box. I actually do feel a slightly quicker response in accelleration from the old filters, probably more to do with the fact that they were very dirty and probably plugged. I spent a good 2 hours cleaning the entire airbox as some dirt had stuck to the plastic housing.
The car now revs at approx. 500 - 525RPM at Idle in Drive and at approx. 600RPM while idling in Park.
Love my ride again!
By the way, anyone notice that the filters themselves sort of stick out and seems to reduce airflow? If you look inward with the two tubes off of the airbox, part of the filter looks to be blocking the flow of the air? With the greens, you actually see the black rubber from the filter.
Is that normal. I triple check to make sure that they are installed properly and they are. The stock paper ones stick out too.
And thanks Carlos, although my CLK 430 is a bit different, your pics helped.

You're welcome.
my stock air intake set-up doesn't look like that anymore,
but it's nice to see those pictures from 3 years ago.

After almost 5 years of ownership (only 28k mi on the odom), I finally decided to get some K&Ns (bought them from Anthuny85). This looks just like my old '07 MKV GTI's airbox. I read somewhere that people Dremel out the baffles and I guess I'll give that a try.
Thanks for the DIY.

'06 C350 SS
I found this on the W204 forum and it has the same engine as those 06-07 C350. Thought it would be helpful for those that have the same type car. Since I wasn't able to find any on here with pictures to show the removal.

Replaced the stock with the K&Ns. I see what Saprissa was saying about removing the baffles. They appear to be directing the air towards the center of the intake box. I decided to leave them alone because I can't see how I coudl separate the two halves and if I Dremel it, there could be some plastic residue left behind and get sucked in. I can't feel any power increase, but it does feel a little smoother as expected from using prior K&N replacements.
