Next time, try a search for wheels or try this super search:

LINK: SUPER SEARCH

But since I'm feeling nice today, here are the stats:

17" alloy wheels
Front Wheels = 17X7.5
Rear Wheels = 17X8.5 (?)
Front Tires = 225/45R17
Rear Tires = 245/40R17

I don't know the offsets

Funny haha. Sorry I asked such a stupid question.

Drex, Thanks. I thought thats what this site was for.

Trying to work on my winter tire situation since I got $1500 to play with. Probably going to do the ASA ST-4 17's with Blizaks or Sport M3's. No way am I driving around with the performance tires on there now.

Don't worry...LOL...just giving you a hard time, since you're fairly new.

This site has A LOT of information and at times, it can get frustrating searching for information, but in order to prevent from getting hit hard by OG members, just make sure you try to search first before asking.

I have no problem helping newbies out. In fact, it's still kinda my M.O. Maybe that's cuz I feel like an "older" head and have been around tuning boards for several years (way back to when I had my MX-6).

Regardless, I hope that info helped.

I will definitely second that motion. I would even go as far as that stating that recently he has graduated from not only providing a written reference, but also has enhanced his repertoire to provide an audio-visual answer as well.

It was about time that he included all options within his grasp.

Drex, I was actually complementing you on giving me the info. Now that i re-read that it may have come off as sarcastic but it wasn't meant to be.

I'm an IT director and have dealt with tuning boards for a while myself. I think I know how to do a search, I was just being seriously lazy. Some of my sites that I vist, I have a bike too and used to have two E30 M3's

www.600rr.net
www.onedownfiveup.com
www.audiworld.com (no more A4)
www.vwvortex.com (i like vw's)
www.bimmer.org

Sometimes I wonder why I do so much research on a car I barely get to drive, since its the wife's car. Maybe its just cause I like to pass my time at work surfing the boards.

Now I have to go search some pulleys and ECU. This car has to get more power.

All good. Nice!...since you're an IT director, then we won't have to worry about you. So you're probably familiar with newbies who come on and just start posting insane threads that have been discussed 10 million times.

And I completely understand the laziness factor. I am right there with you cuz I'm all about short cutting (if the results are just as accurate/significant and come quicker).

I can save you a little time. Aftermarket pulleys have been developed by Renntech, Kleeman, Carlsson (I'm pretty sure they did one for the M271), AND eventually Evosport.

The ECU upgrades are done by Powerchip (connected to Evosport), and Renntech. Kleeman has a K-box, which seems to have the similar affect as the chip/flash upgrade that Powerchip and Renntech offer.

There are some videos posted that show the difference in power between a stock 230 and a 230 w/ Kleeman. Remember, the 2001-2002 models (coupes) have the m111 engine (supercharged 2.3 liter engine - I4). The 2003-2005 (sedan and coupe) have the m271 engine (supercharged 1.8 liter engine - I4). The 2006 230, 280, 350 have new v6 engines (2.5 liter for 230) but I'm not sure of the engine code.

This will help in your searches because if you see a performance mod available for a 230 Kompressor, you have to make sure that it is for the M271 engine. Hope that helps your searching.

Wait a second..whats up with this 2.3 Supercharged engine on 2001-2002? How many horsies did that motor push? Man wish they went with the 2.0 Supercharged in 2006 instead of that small V6.

It's the engine that was used on the w202 chassis (I forget which years had the 230 Kompressor). It pushes 193 to the crank (as supposed to the 189 to the crank the m271 engine is listed at). As for right now, there are a few affordable mods available for that engine. From what I've gathered, the reason MB decided to change to the 1.8 was due to the "loudness" of the m111 engine. I wouldn't have minded the noise, however most MB owners prefer the "quietness" which supposedly "tipifies" a MB vehicle.

Reason MB did the 2.5 liter v6 and did away with the Kompressor was because they want to eliminate the supercharger completely. I read in an article somewhere that the ultimate goal will be to have the "performance" MB's (aka...AMG's) as turbo charged. So most of the new cars MB to be released will be NA (naturally/normally aspirated).

I dunno, I would rather have a C32 s/c v6 than C55 v8. Thats just my opinion. Hey my M3's had a 2.3 with 195HP before chipped. You really don't need the displacment these days to get the HP.

Just seemed like they did not gain much out of the 2.5 as opposed to the 1.8 s/c. But I guess most people will always prefer the V6 over the lag of a turbo or s/c 4 cylinder. Not me, just like i'll take the chipped Audi or VW 1.8T over the 2.8 V6 anyday. Or the Twin turbo 2.7 over the 4.2.

Totally with you on that one. I'd be more inclined to have a force-induction engine over a NA engine, but I'm figuring it might have been a Dhymer-Chrysler decision.

How soon they forget the W203 Coupe which also used it in addition to the R170 SLK.

Sorry, amdeutsch. I thought I had implied that earlier. My bad.

Carlos is on the sauce again. Still wondering how he keeps his garage floor so clean with all the beer snorting after reading MBW W203 posts.
