So what is wrong with the Bratwursts I fixed. They don't deserve an honorable mention.

I don't get it, amdeutsch. You gave great and very helpful links, but look what happened when I tried to drive my car:

Only 7? Common, Saprissa, I thought you could accomplish it in at least 4.

The easiest way to swap trannies is to sell your car, buy another. These days, cars are so complicated with sensors, SAM and ECU modules that you would really have to know what you are doing and acess to a donor car to make sure you got every piece if you want to try it yourself. I would not trust most mechanics to do it. If you buy everything new and have the dealer do it, it's probably about a $10K job. So you can see, that the easy thing, specially for a 2002 is to sell/buy.

what about for putting a 7g in an 01 auto? I would expect that it would be much simpler than going from auto to manual... unless the electronics are really different.

Now that wouldn't that be a nice little upgraded mod.

@&$% yes it would! that would probably do some great things for performance. I just know that I could make better use out of my engine with a better tranny (and i dont mean transsexual, i dont know how that would help my car any... although in my neighborhood it shouldnt be hard to find one to add )

Maybe its like hanging a carrot from a stick attached to the horses head, but instead of running to it, your car will be trying its best to get away from it. Unless your car is into that sort of thing, not that there's anything wrong with that!!!
