Looking to get a 2006 C Class soon and think I'll pick up the Ultimate Driving Machine: The 2006 Mercedes Benz C 350 Sport Sedan with the 6 Speed Manual fully loaded....268 Horsepower

Really, what other Mercedes Benz sedan can you get with a 6 Speed? The C350 SS 6spd will be a dream to drive.

Sure the 7GTRONIC will be fantastic, but when it comes to DRIVING, the 2006 Mercedes Benz C 350 Sport Sedan with the 6 Speed Manual fully loaded takes the cake.

Only thing left to do is change those baby wheels to the C55 AMG wheels, add your tint, and change the sound system inside. And then there's the option of a front grill change to a CLK style. Not too many Mods....just right and does the car full justice.

When I get mines, pictures will be up no doubt. Only thing left to do is reveal the color. The car will look powerful with those bi-xenon headlights at night.

268 Horsepower is more than enough for me and competes well with other entry luxury sport sedans. And for damn sure looks the best out of them all. Especially when dressed it right.

Much respect to the 2006 C230 Sport Sedan with the 6 Speed. That's a great car to buy for a decent price and still give you the Mercedes pleasure of a 6 speed. Just not as moving as the C350 :v , but still a wonderful car.

You Bet
Right on, mine is supposed to be delivered in three weeks;

C350W4
197 Obsidian Black
211 Black Leather
050 Handsfree Cell Integration Kit
287 Split Fold down rear seat
293 Rear side airbags
319 Lighting package w bi-xenon
320 Entertainment package
324 Sunroof package
359 Teleaid
530 DVD navigation
536 Sirius Satellite Radio w 6 disk changer

I plan on doing some mods to it. Mostly from the SUNMAN playlist. I also found an obsidian black tint that should make the car really stealthy looking.

Ya...I'm so glad they upped the horsepower because everytime I pass like an IS300 or 325 or 330 I feel like I am very underpowered. Not that power is everything you know.

i wonder if supercharging the c350 will be offered by some aftermarket manufacturers...kleemann, etc. etc. that would be a beautiful mod.

Ultimate Driving Machine is BMW's trademark and they've definitely earned it as well.

either way, good luck on your purchase

me, i want more. i considered the 400 hp CTS-V but the car just looked too weird. Nobody in my family liked it. I hope Cadillac will do a better job when they re-design the car for the 2008 model year.

we all want more power, but 50+ horses is a nice improvement and i'm sure you can feel the difference over previous models. Cadillac CTS-V is a great performer, basically has C55 numbers, but what a guzzler that's why i need a fuel economy daily driver for all the driving i do, and a nice toy sitting at home in the garage for occasional use these friggin gas prices just won't stop. now if the stock market was like this right now, i'd be golden. just paid $2.83 a gallon for 93 the other day

Maybe I am wrong but I did not see a rim in Saprissa's thread that resembled the one on the 350 SS, amdeutsch :p

Maybe my eyes are failing me in my old age

Here is the rim you are talking about. The old age is setting in
The rim is called 'Algebar' according to the thread.

i think it is wonderful. i'm now nicely cruising at 90 on the highway and i'm assuming it is because ppl are finally getting gas consicous and realizing that they can save more money by driving less and by driving 65-70 instead in the right lane (and get a better mpg). left lane is all open now.... oooo yeah. beep beep

You must be kidding?

THe CTS-V uses the old Z06 motor, which in the vette did 28mpg on the highway. 2 valve pushrod engines can be stingy on gas if you keep the RPM's down. I think the C55 is even heavier...

I don't get the interest in the high HP sedans. Like you said, you need something good on gas for daily use...and a toy for the weekends. Get a real sports car for the weekends. Something that does more than plow and power steer in the corners.

If you still need a Benz, get a nice 1.8L C230...pretty good on gas...still have the four ports for days you need to carry more people.

i would always drive in the slow lane not because I am afraid of getting a speeding ticket but because I am afraid that the cop would make me put on the front license plate

Its got more of a fast back shape to it. I think its 07 it comes out.

I like the CTS styling- but you gotta have big rims. With 16"s its too chunky in the back. Its unlike anyone else, and its one of the few GM success stories. Its a runaway hit for the class its in, and the cars are holding there value better than the Acuras and the C-Classes. I'd like a nicer interior though.

Dude no way. That rim in the pic above must be a 14 rim. The rim on the 350 is more similar to Mille Miglia EV-S.

The rim you reference has much fatter spokes.

i mis-read the manual when i got my C320. the manual says for the first 1,000 miles don't drive more than 2/3 of the maximum rpm in each gear. That means don't go over 4,000 rpm before changing gear. But for some stupid reason i thought the limit was 3,000 rpm. Man. It was horrible. I would get passed by mini-vans and all sort of economy cars for a month
