BRAKE Pad, Rotors, & Calipers Discussion Thread (OEM, aftermarket, etc...)

shameless plug if anyone needs stock pads. i would sell the stock rotors also is someone wants them. they are in the same great condition as the pads.
I have a little over 40K, and the pads are getting down there and I can't stand the dust of the OEM's anymore, so I want to replace them. I already have new pads (Carbotech Bobcat's), but am looking for rotors. The OEM rotors are a little wavy from the OEM pads, and since I am switching compounds, I would like new rotors. OEM's are $101/ea from Ft. Lauderdale Mercedes, which I am not opposed to. Just didn't know if there was something better out there. I may try the Zimmermann's from here: http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...ake_rotor.html
I have looked at those and just wondering if there is anything about them that warrants twice the price of the OEM's?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
When I brought everything to my independent mechanic though, a big problem happened. The rotors were way too big, but the pads fit just fine. So seeing how I had to return them and how we had everything off already...forgive me for doing this...I went to Kragen's and quickly picked up whatever rotors they had for me...and once again I was asked the question "Do you have the sport or non-sport package C230?" I once again chose sport-pack.-equipped. Here's where my thinking ahead paid off for me....I went to my friend's car and took out my rotor (that just came off my car) and matched it up with the one Kragen's just gave me. The one KRagen's gave me was way too big as well. So I go back in asking about this and they took out the NON-sport package ones, and voila! Perfect match-up with the OEM rotors.
My question is...how is it that I have the sport-package but my brakes aren't the "sport-package-equipped version?" Or do the "Sport" emblems on the side mean something else? These emblems weren't added on, the car came from the dealership with it and at that time it only had 20-45 miles on it.

It sounds as though your car is designated a Sport because of body kit, interior etc similar to our Avantgarde.
I speculate that the Sport only had the full Sport Pack (suspension, brakes, body kit, interior) fitted on models post 2003. An American member can hopefully confirm this.
I have seen cars like yours in our company parking area with Sport body trim etc. but no Sport Pack fitted (brakes etc.)

After more than 1h reading and searching for info about brake pads for the C32/55 front brakes I found that most of you are using Akebonos and EBC red stuff, so I have a few questions,
Does any one used the Pagid's RS4-4 pads? How do they perform?
And EBC yellow stuff?
I was looking for Ferodo Racing (DS2500) off the catalogue, but its not beeing easy...
I never used Ferodo racing, but if I can't find them, I want something similiar, what do you recomend?
PS: Street and some track use

I also read that some guys didn't liked...
What about yellow?
I don't care about brake dust, just performance and rotor wear, and litlle noise, those are my musts.
Here in Europe I can find EBC and pagid, but pagid for what I'm founding its €€€
