C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
124K Miles, not KM.
I plan on keeping it for a while.
Took a long time to get it the way I want it...and work out all the 1st year car bugs. And for what it would sell for, whats the point of selling?

Once I stripped everything off of it, I'd be lucky to get 8-10 grand, and then they'd beetch because the ESP light is on.

So yes, drive it till it drops...
then find another coupe and us this one for spare parts he he....

2004 CLK 500 Coupe; 2001 Ford F-450 4x4 7.3D 6sp 4dr
2002 C230K Coupe 146,000 - 2004 CLK 500 40,000

In round numbers, I have a 130 mile daily commute, I picked up the 2002 coupe with 22,000 miles on it in 2004. It now has 146,000 miles and averaged 29.5mpg, best day was 33mpg. I just picked up the 2004 CLK 500 (what a blast to drive) when it had 37,000 miles and now it has just over 40,000 miles. average milage is 23mpg, best day 25mpg, worst day 16mpg.
The only major issue on the C230 was one of the two fuel pumps went out.

C-class
148K kms (~95K miles) and getting a used engine swapped in.

Hopefully all problems will be fixed and it'll last another 150K kms.
I've had EVERY problem with these cars:
- $12 hose
- leaking cam sensors
- new MAF, O2 sensors
- thrust arms, control arms, ball joints, end links, bearings
- fuel pump
- fuel sensors
- door actuator
- and now a hole in a piston!

The quality on these cars suck. If I didn't have so much invested in this car I'd dump it.

2005 MB C240
Mine is a 2005 C240. I bought mine Jan of 2006 and it has 31,000 miles. Only problem I had was minor tranny leak due to being suck in the snow last year. I didn't have studs... so I've learned my lesson. Oh... my SRS light just lit up too.

Wow, my '02 is about to knock over 166,000 miles. Now that it is garage kept and not the daily driver the miles will go on slow.

2002 C320 Wagon
85K on my 2002 C320. Just did a 620 mile round trip to pick up son from camp, averaged 27.5+ mpg. Of course this included 75 to 85 mph runs.

I bought the car w/under 30K and had to take it in for warranty repairs to:
-several electrical headaches (powers seat modulators, etc...)
-suspension parts, sway bars/links, etc...
-battery

Luckily I have the extended warranty, which repaired:
-the power window switches
-a power window motor
-the ignition control from where the key is inserted
-the MAF

I still have the original front brakes, which will be replaced at next oil change. I love the car, some headaches, but still great to drive. I better be able to get 180k miles without major engine work or it is back to Hondas.

2001 Mercedes Benz C240
I'm at 182000kms (113k miles)

Had the car for a year and a half. Love driving it but because it's giving me trouble, I'll strip it next year, and use it for track amateur racing.

Well I have a 2005 C230 with ~52800 miles on it. I have to say this thing is a TANK! Aside from replacing the brakes a little more often than I would like to, I don't have any complaints about the car. It has been solid and reliable, feeling almost just as tight now as it did brand new. Mind you, while my mileage may be considerably lower than some members', my car is not only driven in a spirited manner daily, but also survived Hurricane Katrina with me. I drove through some pretty deep puddles with water cresting at my hood almost. Not my finest moment in driving (probably should have just tried another way around), but I was impressed by its water fording ability. Granted, the check engine light came on and the car did go into limp mode, but as soon as I was able to drive onto a freeway on ramp and let it "dry out" for a few minutes with the engine running everything went back to normal. Also, no water got inside the cabin or anywhere else, all the seals held up fine...

Funny you say that. I drove through a flooded parking lot without knowing how deep the water was. At one point the water came up and off the top front of the hood. I thought I was going to hydro-lock the motor for sure.
I got past that deep part and went on my way without any issues.
Probably the deepest water I've been in in any car I've ever driven. (besides my old Jeep Wrangler)

29,402 on mine. Built in Bremen, Germany, 04/2005 production date. Put into service in California in August 2005. I bought it used in September 2006 with 13,025 miles, had it car carried over to RI. Service A (second service A) due in 14 days.

Yeah, I can relate to you aolsen....people are amazed it has a tiny tiny 4-cyl engine. Then they get totally stunned when I tell them I average in the mid-30's for hwy fuel economy !!

I just hit 60,000 miles the other day

so far so good, but I think I'm putting on too many miles too quickly.

I hope mine lasts as long as most of yours have

My gas sipping C-Class
I just hit 165,000 last week. I also did another service A, new front rotors and pads, wiper blades, and a couple exterior light bulbs. Total service came to $798.56

I'm due for some new tires and I'll be going with the Fuzions again. Great tires and cheap. Considering how often i have to replace them, they are the best bang for my buck. Stickier than the Contis, kuhmos, and Falkens... Falkens FK452's were my least favorite and most noisey.

original factory clutch is holding up great!

Seems like we're getting mixed reviews about the C230 Kompressors but overall, the car seems to be relatively solid.

I've got a mere 37000 miles on my 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. Acquired it new with extended warranty in January 2005 and just passed new car warranty. Haven't had any major problems with my car yet. I truly hope to enjoy this car more and to put more miles on it.

I've had my share of problems with the C230K, but mine is still running strong.

67k miles and counting--I got my '05 in August of '04.

Scott, have you looked into getting this from Mercedes?

http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/data/p...leageaward.pdf

I have the same exact car as you, but currently at 68,600 miles. I'm hoping to get that 155,000 mile award and radiator emblem though!
