C240 rear head restraints

I can't lower my rear head restraints using the switch on the dash; anyone else have this problem? I'll probably pass by the dealer on Thursday to show it to them.

I haven't had this problem with my C320. Do you know if the head rest is all the way down? Will it still flip down if the headreast has been adjusted up? Just a thought....

Note that your engine must be running for this feature to work. Also you need to keep the button depressed for a second or so.

2002 C240 6-spd (ret)
When you say "lower", don't be confused about what the function actually does. It does not lower the headrest shafts into the seats. It simply "flips" the headrests to the down position so they are not blocking the view through the rear window as much. There are two buttons on each rear headrest, one on one side of the shaft (right side I think) which releases the shaft so it can be pushed down. There's a larger button on the headrest piece itself which flips the headrest. The button on the dash simply triggers this switch. Also, you shouldn't have to hold the dash switch, though there is a short delay until it "does its thing".

Yes I know what its supposed to do It doesn't do it though. I'm going to have the dealer look at it tomorrow. Nothings perfect, but you think the dealer would have checked it to make sure it worked when they got the car...then again I should have too before I bought it. Now I'm reading the book cover to cover so I can test everything..hope nothing else is defective.

mine doesn't work either, gonefishin what happened at the dealer? Did they give you new parts? What car do you have? What's the part number if there was anything replaced?

thanks
