I think it will decrease your power because the intake is now taking in hotter air. Or did you mean the "noticeable" difference was less power Does look different though. I believe form follows function so it doesn't look better to me.

I'm pretty sure it increases the performance, not decrease, can anyone confirm this?

the filter is right where the stock opening is for the stock intake. So it is getting in cold air. But yes it is suckn n more air so it is a mix of hot and cold. Mostly cold do to the air flow from the stock intake opening.

It's more of a WAI (warm/hot air intake). Do a dyno and see if you've gained anything.

Do you think he'd still see any gains?
I just don't see an intake that long actually giving you real grunt until the top end, but isn't that where these smaller engines already prevail?

it kinda looses that 0-15 power, but after that it picks up and has this crazy intake sound...im assuming this is the same on the C230ks, kuz I have a K&N cone on my ML500

Short Intakes= Good top end

Long Intakes= Improve torque on the bottom end.

THe above is irrellevant with forced induction. End of story.

I think your butt dyno is more like an ear dyno.

There's no way this thing is an improvement over the stock system with a K&N. Yeah, it makes more noise, and there's nothing wrong with that either. But I seriously doubt any HP increase...

What? Isn't the standard intake above and at the same level front to rear with the radiator,at the right top of the radiator as you face it, taking in outside ambient air? Yours is behind the radiator next to the block. That 'cheap looking' stock plastic air scoop does it's job. I have to be honest, I don't know the 4 cylinder layout as well as my 6.
