Exclamation Ccoupe swaybar measurements

Sorry about the delay. Here they are:

23mm front

14mm rear

So, the Kleemann is at 28/21 and $475 (avail. immed.), and Eibach at 24/22 and $375 (I think - not yet in US). Renntech is over $900, and I don't know the thicknesses. So, I think that Kleemann is the best option right now (and I dig that red), at least until ASP releases their set.

Those measurements may be off a little, since the bars are a little hard to get to, especially the front with all of the plastic undercarriage cladding, but should be in the ballpark.

MB-BOB, you owe me drycleaning on one of my favorite dress shirts!

No warranty is expressed or implied. These measurements are for off-road use only; your measurements may vary. Sway bars have no impact on your air-fuel mixture, and I have no dyno results. :p

You can't be serious. Put down the bong, and re-read the post. It's not a puzzle.

If you're asking if there are different sizes for different ccoupes, no, they're all the same.

This is really funny.

As usual, tommy comes through for the Coupsters... Yeah! Now all we need are some C32 measurements to see if they really are the same.

Check is in the mail for the drycleaning, dude. But your mommy should have taught you if your shirt can get dirty, it will get dirty.

I posted a thread on the C32 AMG forum, asking for C32 roll bar measurements for comparison. No answer there, yet.

There's nothing wrong with showing your feminine side. You should look for yours.

Hmm, so assuming tolerances and possible error during measurement, I'd assume that they were the same bar.

I don't think they are the same bars. On sway bars, isn't a millimeter gonna make a difference in the torsional rigidity of the car.

Much like the C7/nonC7 debacle, is there a way to get part #s and see if they in fact are the same bars?

According the Mr. Vanos...

The stock C32 sway bars are as follows:
Stock Front 22mm
Stock Rear 16mm

So, it sounds like you two are in disagreement when it comes to the front sway bar. All I know is that one of you is right, or both of you are wrong. :p

According to my calipers the C coupe bars are 20.26mm front and 13.11mm rear. Lets drop the decimal measurement and consider it coating thickness which has no bearing on torsion and say that they are 20mm front and 13mm rear (6spd w/ C7).

C32 AMG bars are 22mm front and 16mm rear according to Vadim@EvoSport.

Yes, C32 data

Agree with Kleemans revised post.

My C32 is
.870 in = 22.1 mm front
.634 in= 16.1 mm rear

I was on my back, removed the panel, and yes I do know how to measure with a caliper, did it for several years in a previous life.

So why .1 mm over... probably the paint.

Agree the sways are a good place to get some handling improvement. I was surprised at how small the C32's are, especially the front.

Kleeman, you almost had me visiting the dealer, for a second there. Cheers all.

OK, by my count we have 4 sources verifying the C32 AMG bars at 22 mm front, 16 mm rears.

We have two sources quoting the Coupe's bars, at 23mm/14mm, and 20mm/13mm, respectively. The 3 mm difference at the front is .120" or the thickness of two pennies. That's quite a variance.

If we're not too exhausted by now, does anyone want to offer a couple more sets of coupe measurements?

BTW, the bars on my (non-sport) C320 measure .770" (19.5 mm) front, .513" (13 mm) rears.

I personally measured the bars that came off my wifes Coupe. Its a 6spd with C7, if there is more than one bar available from MBZ on that car its news to me.

I'm not throwing rocks at anyone's measurement skills, KLEEMANN. I'm just suggesting we get some additional data points on the Coupe to increase our confidence level overall.

Or, Tommy, ya wanna put that dirty dress shirt back on and take a second set of measurments to verify?

.XXX in. / .0394 = XX.X mm
