I smoked a WRX today!
We were at a stop light. He revved his engine to show me he wanted to get his *** kicked. Once it turned green, sped off like a demon. I used touch shift to kill him and he was so easy. He was 2 cars behind me the entire time.

With all due respect, if you were driving your C230 there is no way he should have lost unless you mistook the WRX for a Mazda MP3.

The car had a air intake vent on the hood. I just went to the Subaru homepage to check. The WRX has the vent whereas the non WRX doesn't.

Well, I went to Edmunds, and the WRX sedan is 3085 lbs, which is substantially lighter than a C230, then there's the 227 hp vs. 192.
Maybe it was an auto? Big - I think that what people are saying is that there should be no way to beat a WRX, with equal drivers. Which means that you were a much, much better driver than the clown in the WRX. So take it as a compliment!
Wyatt - sure. I'm assuming that you'd need about 5 minutes?

I agree, Pweb, there is no reason to use Touch Shift in a race. The responses arent fast enough to make any difference, and the auto tranny will let you hit redline anyway. I drove a WRX automatic and it could beat the sh** out of a 230, so IF he actually raced a 2002 WRX it must have been a stick and the guy missed a shift.

He also could've gone more conservate and shifted way below redline, which can cost him the race. Yeah, but like most other people have been saying, seems like an experience gap of some sort.

Yah, The WRX just had a bad shifting day. He's probably dying to race you again. Maybe, he reved on you because there was a bug on his gas pedal and he wanted to kill it. But, hey, you still won regardless.

oh boy - wait 'till 'feropont' (Serge) finds out about this thread...smoke...pipes...he's been busy fitting his WRX with downpipes, uppipes, etc. and now swears someone dumped a six-banger in his engine bay overnight while he was asleep.
I'm sure he'll be happy to take you up on your challenge. The only smoke you'll see will be from the Kumho tires; inhale deeply...maybe that's the kind of high that'll make you believe you smoked a WRX in your Coupe.
