I'm humbled to have to go through three stump-puller gears when the lights change. Once I hit 40 mph, it gets to 80 in a blink.

I didn't know what so many low gears were good for until I decided to weave around the parking islands in an abandoned shopping center. Then I decided to enjoy those low gears on twisty roads.

On the freeway, I downshift to 6 when I am looking for an opening. Then I shift to 5 and punch it to move. I downshift twice while I break for sudden freeway stops.

I tested what the book said by going on side streets to test the power ranges of the gears. Accurate.

It's complicated to learn, but the seven gears are great once you find out how you want to use them.
