2005 facelift, IMS and 12V socket

I got my car from the body shop on Friday, I have to take it back on Monday for the 2005 brackets (which wil be in monday). Im painting the mesh tonight and will post pics of that when im finished.

Plus after a year of having the IMS and all the accessories, I finally had it installed. Thanks for the help Mike. He also installed a 12V socket in the trunk. He had all the pieces already for it, so what the hell.

Here are the pics so far.

here are some better pics i took this morning. you can still kinda see how the bumper doesnt fit quite right. the clasp that holds the fender adn bumper together tight needs to be replaced and the new bracket installed in the front. this is all getting done tomorrow.

and a little before and after.

that is dope....i think i'm goin to do that to my coupe next Woohoo...now to find a good body shop to get me the parts and do a good job of installing and painting. Btw...the grill that is by the fog's, can you order it in a black color instead so you don't have to paint it?

The car looks great! I can't help but wonder what it would look like if you painted all the vertical pieces of the center mesh black so it gives the illusion of horizonal slats only...

I agree, here is a bit of a lame attempt at showing just horizontal slats:

WOW! that looks really good. i think i may consider doing that. hmm. the nly bad thing is the vertical and horizontal slats align together and one is not more recessed. it will take patience and alot of masking. i still have the paint, brushes and masking tape.

it was a small dropping, i washed the car later that day and removed it. my car was dirty when i took those pics early that morning. i noticed it the night before when i painted the mesh but it was too late to wash the car then.

You could always dremel every other vertical slat off so there are less to paint! Not sure how much support the vertical slats actually provide though...

i think i would leave the vertical slats, they may not provide a lot fo support, but they provide some.

plus i do have palns already for a clear bra. i was told to wait until the paint cures.

Doug, what Zishan did was exactly what I was referring to also, in your grille thread! I think it looks sick (meaning good) like that!

BTW, car looks great with the new front end.

LOL! i know what sick means. im not that old!

im giving it serious consideration. im just wondering what it would like up close. i wont dremel it just because of the plastic sagging or something. if something were to hit it while i was driving it would smash right thru those three thin strips.

i may buy a new centre mesh piece and work on it when i get a chance and then put it on the car. right now i havent the time, money nor the patience.
