Brakes? for 2005+ models...

Well, there aren't very many posts regarding this topic (05 specific) so I figure I'll start one.
After 20,700 miles (and having 19's on for less than 1k miles), my MFD gave me the visit workshop brake warning. I'm assuming that it's my front pads that need to be replaced and I'm sure the dealer may tell me I need to do rotors, but we all know that's BS...
Downtown LA Motors is charging me $245 to replace my pads. But, I wanted to put Porterfields or some better brand than oem. I contacted Porterfield a few weeks ago and they said that their front pads for the 05's were not yet ready and should be out early in '06. So, anyone know of any better brands? Or, should I just stick to oem?
Thanks!
BTW, people with 05's, how quickly did you have to replace your pads?

and, the reason why I was thinking of taking my car to the stealer is b/c it's only $245 for pads and I have a $100 gift cert (from giving them my survey) from them... BUT it'll all go to **** if they tell me I need new rotors.
Sorry i can't look up the prices right now, I'm currently at college and won't be home till the end of the week. I know for sure though that I got better prices. I got the car back the same day too

I guess it was a bad day for them.I'll be bringing my car to the stealership to have them do it for $245 (I'm hoping the rotors are fine), is there anyway to just check? I'm hoping that at 20k miles, that they should still be fine... anyways, there's a pic of my front rotors attached...
And, there are some other pics. For people w/the new clusters that haven't seen the light...
Also, there is a picture of the actual sensor itself. My aunt's car at 18k miles had to have its pads replaced and my uncle and his buddy did it and MB gave him two sensors instead of just one so I have their extra one. but, since I have the random gift cert, I might as well take it to the stealer, it's more convenient

they cleaned it and used some other "brake treatment" ****...
they said that my rotors were over (meaning below I believe) the recommended amount by 0.6mm. but that they were still good although there was a slight "lip" in the edge that could cause squeaking noises. but, if the rotors are still good why change em? I've had squeaks since it was new...
they also ordered me new steering wheel buttons b/c my were squeaky...

Regardless, the $265 that you paid isn't bad. I actually replaced all 4 (just cuz I didn't want to have to bring the car in again later on). Dude, next time you have to do this, let me know because between purchasing the pads from Frank and having a mechanic that I know works on high-end cars (i.e. ferraris, corvettes, benz's, bmw's, etc...) put them on for me, I paid a really cheap price (looking in retrospect).

I ended up paying $165 b/c I had that $100 gift cert from them for giving them my survey, so I guess $165 isn't bad at all.
now, when I get my car lowered, I can have the lowering place do the alignment
