following up my previous posts:
1) my C270CDI in original state
2) my C270CDI taken apart

Here are some crappy preview pictures of my slightly modified 2001 C270CDI...this is just the exterior - most of the modifications were done to the less vissible inside (pictures to follow later this week)...it is not completely finished yet, but sofar it is turning out nicely.

modifications that were done to the exterior are:
* [772] AMG appearance package
* [840] privacy glass (factory tinted glass for the rear 7 windows)
* [614] bi xenon headlights (to replace the regular factory installed xenons)
* [782] 18 inch AMG wheels (newstyle styling III)
* updated taillights, mirror blinkers and clear foglights
* AMG C32 frontbrakes
* flat hoodbadge
* H&R cupkit (shocks with height adjusteable springs)
* changed out the silver elegance grill for a black avantgarde grill (to match the AMG grills in the bumper)

To prevent the engine from damage due to lowering I added [481] steel carter protection plate...

If it wasn't for the freaking SNOW I would have had better interior and exterior pictures - but that will have to wait.

So you took these photos to prove to us that at one time your car was clean and that it really is a designo paint job

Once it leaves the garage it may not return till 500,000km.

Looks great Steve with the 18" wheels and cup kit. Can you take pictures of the steel carter protection plate [481]? Does that option fit all W203 chasis like the c-coupe? I'm thinking of having a carbon fiber one made if it's an important item.

IT is available for all cars. THere is a part number in all cases. But making it from carbon fibre is not much use. You need STEEL to protect the sump when the car bottoms out. Carbon fibre sadly isnt much use in that case.

Once it leaves the garage it may not return till 500,000km.
the car is actually quite dirty...it has been on that lift for 3 weeks now and it sits just underneath the outlet of the hot air heater...so lots of dust on the car...As easy as my C250D made it to 620.000km, as difficult it will probably be for this C270CDI to get to even half of that...I don't think it will ever do 500.000km.

Quote: Can you take pictures of the steel carter protection plate [481]?
It has to be steel if it has to be of any use...I had one under my previous 190D, still have one under my C250D, have one under my 300SL and don't want to drive without it under my C270CDI...it is a MUST under a lowered car.

does this come standard on US models? b/c I remember my w202 having this, and my w203 has even more underbody panels.
