Loosen 6 torx #20 screws and losen the hose clamp, remove the lid, remove the old filter, replace with new filter, put lid back on, tighten 6 torx screws and hose clamp. Takes 10 minutes even for the mechanically inept and you hands don't even get dirty. It's a maintenance item, it's designed to be serviced by the customer.
Also while under the hood, you may want to replace your cabin air filter, that one is even easier. Loosen the 3 clips on cover over battery and the filter is under the cover. My car has 11K miles and that filter is very dirty but our air may be dirtier than yours.

For their website, click on the Eurosport link in my first post on this topic above. Josh is my contact there but his partner is familiar with the filter for the coupe also.

Young, you need a #20 torx screwdriver available at any hardware or auto supply store. I know he quoted you and I $57 but he charged me $51 and change. Maybe he just likes me. Did you get yours yet?

I took the car out for a spin to test out the latest mod. I can feel the difference on the high end, above 4k rpm. The tires start to chirp a little even at about 30 mph at high rpm and it's never done that before. Certainly worth the price of admission.

i vaguely remember that the filter gets changed at service A (10k miles)... correct me if i'm wrong.
i plan to change the itg out and replace it back to original (dirty) filter. but i'd like to put something extra in it... like a small branch.
or a $1 bill.

AlBoston, I changed my pads when the car was fairly new as soon as they were available from Porterfield mostly for the dust problem on factory pads. They do stop a little better.
speedfrk. they couldn't change the fuel settings because for some reason my ECU got locked out and required a call to the region office to unlock it. They'll try again next week.
young, the air filter does not get changed at the A service. My filter is the one that came with the car and I had my A service done 2k miles ago. I will save the old one to put back in so they don't mess with the ITG when I go in for the B service. The air filter is very dirty and so is the cabin air filter.

It would be interesting to see whether those are the same filters that we dyno tested, or if they have sine been re-cut to free more airflow. On our previous test of the filters, on both a c230k and c32 (different filters), we lost power.

Should the A/F ratio be modified for any performance modification? Also ... Whats the best way about getting mb to help you out with changing these computer settings and say throwing some porterfields on there? I am kindof aprehensive to ask them to help me out with modifying my car for aftermarket stuff, while not paying for the service.

Filter Comparison - Stock vs. K&N vs. ITG

The ITG filter is not tested in that article. The only foam filter tested is a Ramair filter, which they say is 'comparable' to the ITG filter. You can not get accurate results by testing one brand and calling it another. For the coupe, a K&N filter may currently provide better gains than the ITG filter. That is why the ITG filters were being redesigned for the Mercedes Benz. We have been working with ITG for several months in this process. Whether Buellwinkle has a new filter, or the same model we tested, we will not know until he dyno's his car.

I was just going by what Young said. He got $200 off his Renntech pulley without the air filter. Thanks for finding that out. It may be worth it for some to pay $99 and get it now if they have it in stock vs. waiting 3 weeks for half off.

Awaiting a new arrival...
Buell, does Eurosport stock these now, or are they special order only still?
Anyone have one in stock I can get before Saturday when I dyno, so I can provide actual numbers for my application?

Nobody stocks them that I know of, not even ITG, each one is hand made to order. Call Renntech, they probably have them in stock for the $99 price someone mentioned. If you are in the LA area, you can borrow mine for a dyno test.
