C Coupe transmission options
thanks
example... chrysler "auto-stick" if your stopped and put it in 3rd gear, when you go you are in 3rd gear no matter what (car doesn't go very fast at 5mph when floored in 3rd gear, obviously) also if you want to take the chrysler into redline it will let you.
but
the c-coupe, if you put the touch shift in 3rd at a complete stop, when you go... you still start out in first (or second if your in C or W)... ALSO if your in (lets say) 3rd and you hit redline, the car shifts to 4th regardless...
NOT that you would have a reason to start off in 3rd gear or redline... to me, thats a true manumatic... the coupes is just a fancier gear selector.
*note... the chrysler i was refering to was an intrepid... i don't know if they changed how the newer cars work.
as long as the automatic transmission is reliable... i think it's about time to switch over to an auto for a while...
my last few cars include a 2nd gen celica (manual) 2nd gen mr2 (manual, modded) and currently a 93 urs4... it's nice driving a stick out in the midwest... with a lot less traffic... but i want to get teh mb as a cruiser, so as long as the touchshift simulates a little bit of the standard, that's good enough for me...
(i'm also in the market for a 5spd suzuki x90, which should satisfy my stick fix)
