^^haha yeah right,
i bought the hoens a week ago and finally put them in today, and i love it, not too blue and fake, a nice white light, exactly what i wanted, and its not led so no worries on resistors
imo, best/easiest path to take, great results

But sure enough they didnt have built in resisters and just blinked all the time, and showed the warning light! The thing is my ones are about 42mm in lenth for my numberplate lights and I drive a w203 c32 AMG? Anyonw who could through some light for a guy across the pond!lol

I've read the thread thanks but over the last 2 years Ive noticed there are some interesting fitment differences between my uk spec c32 and the us ones. Therefore I was really seing if there was anyone else from the uk who might have some knowledge on the currect set up. I.e. if you read the post you will notice most people telling us that the bulb fitment could be 32, 36 or 39mm. But mine is 42mm!

lol so buy a 42mm bulb if yours is 42...again you just seem to be answering your own question. Thats all im trying to point out. Unless I'm not understanding what your asking. try autolumination.com I've bought most my LED's from them. or try hoen

lol no offense man but $50 for a pair of tiny LED's is crazy! I've got a decent amount of experience in electrical engineering and know that the parts for these things are essentially pennies and the labor is not that intensive (assuming its being done by a person and not a machine). Good luck if you can get someone to pay $50 for just license plate bulbs.

Damn this led lighting really is so frustrating! I got these led lights from superbrightleds. They are the 37mm 6led festoon replacement with built in resistors. The left side works perfectly but the right side just goes on and off every 3 seconds. No errors though. I flip flopped the leds and still has the same results. Anyone got any solution for this before I return these back?

I noticed the leds does not make full contact on the 2 prongs. I think I have 36mm but the leds I got were 37mm so that might be the culprit.
I'll return these leds and get 36mms and see if they will work or not.

Guys, Sorry if it's being terribly redundant here but can someone PLEASE help me out? I recently bought the 6418 "non led" plate lights in blue from an e-bay vendor. Sadly or expectedly as I've read in this thread, they melted right through the lens covers on my 02 CL500. I'd like to try led's this time around. Can someone point me in the right direction to which of these I should buy? There must be a dozen different versions on e-bay. Could someone post a link? Many,Many thanks in advance....

LED light on license plate
Hi. I'm interested on buying LED light bulb for my w203 license plate. what is important to know before buying the LED light bulbs? i understand that some bulbs show error that says the bulb is scorched.
furthermore, is anyone familiar with web sites that send such bulbs abroad? also, links with suitable bulbs will be nice.
thanks a lot!

I have a similar version (that I got from eBay a while back) on the w203 and they work great and have been running perfectly with no errors. I'm also running these exact bulbs on my gf's Cayman S and they work perfectly with no errors. (The Cayman S is just as finicky with bulbs as the w203 and I think it's due to it sharing quite a few electrical components.)
