to buy or not to buy

Ok, I found white 01 c240, 82xxx miles, 6 speed, bose/navigation ect...for 15 grand. Carfax was good, was star marked. I took it for a hard test drive everything seemed to be good. After about 20 minutes of hard driving "reduce oil level" warning came on. What does that mean? and is it worth buying?

C 230K Coupé
Well the warranty on the car is definitelly gone, and 82k miles doesn't sound that appealing to me. It's sad but MB's aren't too good when it comes to reliability. It's fine with the warranty cause everything gets fixed for free, but once it's gone and you get problems, the repair bill is really gonna rack up.
But at same time an 01 c240 could have been a very good model year, I wouldn't know because I have never owned one. You should ask some members about their experiences with the 01 c240.

That's a 12 grand car around here. Too many miles for the year.

I have a 2001 c240 with approx. 72K miles and the only problem that I have had with the car (knock on wood) is a rattle from the inside of my driver's door and a faulty wire harness for my front turn signal. The 2001's are built like tanks. I have more problems with the valets f##king my rims up more than anything else.

'02 MB C240 6spd / '92 BMW 325i 5spd
I have a '02 c240 6spd. with 72k miles and the car runs perfectly. When I run it hard there's no sign of problems. The only problem I'm going to have is that I need to buy new tires. As far as maintenance I do it myself. It's not a bad car compared to my BMW.

It all depends how the previous owner treated the car. A car can last forever only if the owner gives it TLC.
